Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

So what's up no one wants to go PvP on some Ghost Recon?? Nobody uses ASE (The All Seeing Eye)? We should have a game or two to end the debates we can't settle in violence just like in the real world!!

I dare you to poop on that Tommy!

I use All Seeing Eye for Battlefield 2. In fact, I am refreshing servers as we speak.

Aiight give me some REASONABLE specs for BF2 and I'll see how much $$ I'll need to spend in order to pwn U!! We could have an Armenian Club server ... how sweet would that be? Unless hosting these newer games on a above avg. PC is near impossible.

What do you mean by reasonable SPECS?

What I meant was what you would suggest in order to play BF2 reasonably well OR above average.

I know you'd want me to play w/my old PS mouse right?

Well, what I would recommend is that you have a logitech gaming mouse and keyboard preferrably, but no doubt a mouse.

Personally? These are my recommendations. You need at least 1 gig of RAM , I repeat, at least. And I'm talking about good RAM, like a good brand name ether Corsair, or Kingston, etc. You need a very good video card, it's probably the main and important thing you need. It's hard to get an idea of what card to get because they range from $150 to $500 and $600.

My video card is 120 megabytes it was $220 when I got it and now its probably like $140, now there are ones with 256 megabytes. I have a Nvidia GeForce 6600. You should probably get a Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT.

Another thing you need are a good mother board and processor, something round 100-150 either Abit or Asus. I have both Intel motherboard and processor which you can't go wrong with. And your processor speed needs to be at least 3 gigahertz.

If you want, you can go to www.alienware.com and they specialize in gaming systems. They build special gaming systems and are a bit expensive but you dont have to buy their stuff, just to get an idea.

Now I will tell you the Battlefield 2 recommendations from the back of the box, which is crap because it gives you the MINIMUM of what you need to have. This is just so you don't have anything lower, but if I were you I wouldn't settle for this, and try to get something at least a little above of what the minimum is.

CPU: 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D/Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon or greater
                RAM: 512 MB or more.
Disc Drive: 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
Hard Drive: 2.3 GB or more
Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible (they recommend the video card be at least 128 MB or more, either NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater or ATI Radeon 8500 or greater.)
                Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible

So in all honesty, it will depend on your budget and how much you want to spend.

I used to use Roger Wilco when I played Counter-Strike like years ago.

Now I just use X-Fire and Ventrilo. I don't mind letting you know my IP, but I can't host a server, so it would be pointless. In Quake you used to be able to host your own LAN games, which was cool.

But I will gladly tell you the servers I play at, which are West Coast servers. If you're anywhere further, things will be laggy and not good, so we might not be able to play even if we could. Cheers.

P.S. I used to do the whole clan thing when I had time, especially with Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3, and Counter-Strike. But since then, I've just been a lone warrior.

Nice I imagined you'd be autonomous heheh

Have the requisites for hosting become too great? I've been out of the loop since GR or BF1942 Secret Weapons time. I did modding for fun which is what I really enjoyed ...

Well I'll let you know when I feel like my system is a tad better prepared to play online. Imo BF2 looks awesome I can't wait to play. Also I heard for HL2 they are basically porting over all of the old CS maps in the new higher rez so that should be fun as well! FPS are awesome, just talking about it here makes me want to get back into it! Do any "teabagging"? The "complete frag" LMAO!!
