Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Yah in the UserCP, you can put people on your "Buddy / Ignore" list. Once on the ignore list, their posts show up as a link to a popup window. If you want to read a specific post, clicking on an ignored post link pops it up in a separate popup. Or you can just go on not reading
    this post = teh win.

I'll stand for Anahita... I appreciate her presence on this forum... The only reason you don't understand her is because you don't try to (and trying means abandoning your own logic and starting from scratch, if you can't do that, you're hopelessly consumed by yourself).

I admit, it's sometimes hard to understand what she's saying, but I know that there is an answer at its core, an answer of love and compassion, and that's what pushes me to want to figure it out. It's an answer that criticizes our "rational ways" which prevent us from growing.

I find this appealing because I am one of those "rational people", who looks heartless and cold to most people. There's nothing worthwhile in this world once you become cold and hateful. I don't want to be that way anymore, and so I pay attention to people like Anahita.

Anahita, are you still smoking crack?
Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable.

Oh please, spare me that self-righteous crap of how we are all 'consumed by ourselves' and you, the lone enlightened soldier have 'made the effort' to 'see the light'.

You're lucky your posts have been quality posts, and one can't say the same about you as we say to Anahita. Her posts are just crap, plain and simple, and I'll never stop saying that as long as she posts crap. There is nothing to understand when something is riddled with a bunch of links, random texts and a bunch of different font colored highlights. That's more of a strain on my eye to make the effort to 'understand'. I'd rather not since my eyes aren't that good and I already wear glasses.

No. How does she even KNOW 1,000,000+ people? If somebody wants to find their way here, they'll find their way here. If she wants to teach about Armenia or anything associated with the Country, she can do that elsewhere; there's no need to bring people here or let them know (especially if they have really no interest in learning).

I don't feel self-righteousness when I say "consumed by yourself", I merely speak from personal experience. I don't mind if you disagree with my wording, but I am merely beating myself up with such statements, I was not addessing you.

Anyhow, her posts aren't crap, it's just her way of expressing herself, and to understand her expressions, you must take a step forward into a realm of her logic and reasoning. If you do not wish to do so, then her posts will be full of crap to you. I find it a worthy learning experience of letting my own logic and knowledge go, and try to embrace one that is fundamentally different. I can't get many feelings from my own logic and expression, and so I feel happy to know that there are people out there who can share their emotions that I lack, if only I take that one step.

Anyhow, I don't expect you to agree with or anything, considering your strong stance against her way of writing, but I'm merely trying to explain why I appreciate what she's trying to communicate.

Instead of bringing many many others (potential Anahitas) here to learn the Truth, wouldn't it be better to spread the word of our gospels? I will vote for the Anahitas out there to go among the sheep and the wolwes and to spread the truth. No need to bring the man to the truth when you can take the truth to the man.

I've already decided not to bring people here. That doesn't mean they won't come at some point, though.

The rest of what you just said doesn't make sense to me.
                  Which truth?
                  What gospels?
(Do you mean the contemporary 'book of love' being painted/recorded through music?)

Could you explain what you mean by 'potential Anahitas?'

Give Me Some Truth (John Lennon)

I’m sick and tired of hearing
                    Things
                    From uptight-short sighted-
                    Narrow minded hypocritics

All I want is the truth
                    Just give me some truth

                    ...

Well. People who experience sensations of the suffering they cause in others may change what they do. That is for those who don't learn by hearing words--or don't understand the lyrics (so I'm trying to spell that out, here.) That is why I type/translate the lyrics.

also, you don't need a lock for what you don't need.

I am a bleeding heart. Everything anyone has they have from Nature/God. Far too many people (especially in the US) take that for granted and are blind to the harm that their lifestyles do to others. So, I teach.

See the God Father and Mother thread for more of an answer

                      And Thank You, jk3!
