Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

    Armenian Genocide Recognition soon in America?

    Editing-I meant to say Armenian Genocide RECOGNITION soon in America as the title, is there anyway to edit it?

    The Turks have done something that will severely undermine the place American Strategists put them in, that I think will get America and Israel to hasten up into recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

    U.S. OFFICERS WARN TROOPS TO AVOID THEATERS SHOWING MOVIE

    BERLIN - A Turkish-made film that portrays American soldiers in Iraq as brutal and callous killers is setting attendance records in Turkey and has just opened throughout Europe.
    From the opening seconds to the conclusion, the movie, ``The Valley of the Wolves -- Iraq,'' portrays Americans as wearing the black hats.
    In one scene, an American doctor, played by actor Gary Busey, is furious because troops keep killing Iraqi prisoners before they reach Abu Ghurayb prison. The doctor's problem? If the Iraqis are dead, he can't harvest their organs to send to Israel.
    The movie, the most-expensive production in Turkish film history, has been a runaway success in Turkey since it opened Feb. 3. Would-be viewers must wait weeks for tickets. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to Turkish press reports, recommended the film to friends after a private screening. His wife said, ``It's a beautiful film.''
    It's not clear how well the film will do in its Europe-wide release. No weekend box-office figures are available. Theaters showing the film in Berlin were packed, managers said, but much of the crowd was of Turkish descent. The film's subtitles will discourage Germans, who prefer dubbing.
    American military officers have advised troops in Europe to avoid theaters showing the film and not to discuss it with strangers, though ..........

      Well I think Turkish actions have shown that one thing that can always be counted on is for Turkey to do the stupid thing.

        Apparently Erdogan praised the movie as being brilliant. Now that's a stupid move.

        Still, the movie in of itself isn't that offensive. As an American citizen I support a person's right to free speech, and seeing that there is so much anti-Arab literature and media in the United States, it isn't unreasonable that others around the world have the right to create their own literature and media.

            I agree, and I don't think this will really do anything to help get the Genocide resolution passed.

              Yeah, this is mostly a cultural issue. It has very little to do with world politics and will have little influence on what happens in Congress.

              Anyway, we can remember that the United States was really pissed off when Turkey denied them access to their lands for military deployment in Iraq, and yet that had no effect on any pro-Armenian resolutions in Congress.

                I see what you are saying.

                I am absoloutly for free speech and agree that the Turks had every right to create this movie.

                However don't you guys think it went way into anti-semitism, and standard America bashing?

                I mean the doctors with the American Army all happen to be jewish, and the reason they are there is to take organs from healthy Iraqis to send to Israel.

                I would think that this movie would get many ordinary Americans angry at Turkey though, which effects how senators vote.

                I personally think this movie was a free image upgrade for Turkey's "rivals" (I didn't want to say enemies), and downgrade for Turkey in America.

                My point isn't an anti-movie complain about it being too anti-american point, my point is just that the movie may hurt Turkey in the polls in the states.

                  Gondorian, you are absolutely correct that the standard American will be very angry at Turkey for this movie. Still, even if Americans are angry at Turkey, it will do little to help Armenian affairs. Most Americans don't even understand what an Armenian is, much less know what the Armenian Genocide is about. Therefore, whatever action the House of Representatives or the Senate takes on the Armenian Genocide is going to be of little concern to the average American.

                    Well perhaps it's anti-semitism can effect the Israeli Elections and get Israeli Appeasement Monkeys out of office?
