Unfortunately, they did clean off Arabic and Persian words that used to enrich the Turkish language. Instead, we have some artificial western words that most of the users do not understand the real meaning.

On the other hand, I must admit that the law, literature, history disciplines of the universities still use most of those Ottoman terms, which is a bit relaxing to know.

Who knows? perhaps my children will be able to learn Armenian or Kurdish in the future though I only hope that they will.

    • By calling Kurds as minority I believe their status is drawn bacwards not improved. And rights on paper dont mean much, I believe concordance in society is much more important, and I dont think this'll be achieved by officially calling Kurds as minority.
I agree with you,TurQ.I also don't approve of calling Kurds as ''minority''.I only want human rights.

About the mother tongue issue, my personal opinion is that Kurdish and Laz languages could've been taught to everyone in Turkey. We learn lots of languages, French English etc, even Greek in universities, why not Kurdish or LAzish or Bosnian?
You are totally right my friend. It will be very great. But unfortunately not so many people in Turkey think like you and me.And it seems like a dream to me.

Anyways in conclusion if an average Turkish citizen could've udnerstood Kurdish the world wouldnt explode, and Turkish society will become stronger not weaker and also on the contrary PKK and other terrorists and anti-Turkish groups in Europe and elsewhere will have hard time to feed their propoganda machine.
Yes,by giving human rights to Kurds,we can take apart Kurds from terrorist organizations and Turkey will get stronger which is our only goal.

And I am sure you observe how the rights were improved in last 15 years, so in time things will be solved.
Yes, rights have been improved. But there are still a lot of rights to get.
