Like often, I'm not sure what level to read that on...

The person who benefits from 'forgiveness' is the one who does the forgiving. Otherwise hatred (and to a lesser degree anger) will live in that person, fester, and harm the person harboring. Your thoughts affect your body--bad emotions should be released. You don't have to forgive those who commit genocide (or any other horrific act) for their benefit, but my advice is to do so for your own. Otherwise, the genocide is still ongoing, with lingering hatred being the slow killer of Armenians.

How ironic is it that you are calling ME ignorant. Don't you realize that it was Armenians like you that were partly responsible for the Genocide? You're absurd "forgiveness" mindset in the face of extreme evil opened the way for wholesale massacre. You strike me as so stupid and suicidal that you would probably say "I forgive you" to a person who is simultaneously stabbing you're grandmother.
Go away site-pest. I would rather have Attaturk on this board.

            1. You clearly don't understand what I'm talking about.
            2. You really don't know what you are talking about, either.

Will Armenians forgive that horror and work towards peace, is my question right now.

I am not saying just 'admit' is the end of what happens, either.
To forgive means to forget; to completely wipe away the transgression taken place, to let it go. We can not fogive them until they admit they have done anything wrong.

WHY do you even pose such a question?!!! It sounds like you're putting the blame on the victim. We do not need nor can we forgive.

Is that all you have to say? How about furnishing some evidence instead of posting a goofy icon "". Sereously, are you trying to be cute (because it's not working)?
If you continue to posts comments like this you're going to go from nitwit status to complete retard status real quick.
Again, useless site pest, I ask you: Please go away. You are an embarrassment and a distraction.

Forgive doesn't mean forget, at all.

When I worked with victims of rape and sexual assault, for example, one of the things that could empower the victims of the crime was to 'forgive' the criminal who did the vile and violent act. That crime is about power. The criminal likes that the crime continues to victimize the victim for long after the crime. They get off on the psychology of continued harm and mental torture of their victims, even long after the physical crime.

Forgiveness doesn't minimize the seriousness what the criminal did, but what it does is stop the continued harm being done to the victim. The woman becomes empowered as a survivor and less a victim. My point is that to forgive empowers you and not doing so eats you up inside--they continue to 'win' then.
