Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Innocent Until Proven Guilty

Turks feel their ancestors are innocent of perpetrating a genocide against the Armenians. Armenians feel the Young Turks are guilty of crimes of Genocide against their ancestors.

    Innocent UNTIL Proven Guilty.

Set up a international research/investigation committee. Make sure it has people from Turkey, Armenia but most importantly composed of people who are neutral on the Genocide and are committed to their objectivity.

    Thats it.

The process has to be accepted by BOTH Armenians and Turks. Then and only then will you have this issue resolved.

Have you even tried to read about all the trials in Istambul, and Malta, and other international courts? How many times do they have to be proven guilty?

Look up the International Military Tribunal of 1919 in Istanbul. Turkish generals and Turkish governors admitted that orders had come from the top leadership to exterminate Armenians. Just a few examples, since the book was next to me already:

        Mustafa Arif, Interior Minister 1918-1919:

"They decided to exterminate the Armenians, and they did exterminate them. This decision was taken by the Central Committee of the Young Turks and was implemented by the government."

        Ali Kemal, Interior Minister 1919:

"In fact, it has already been demonstrated that this tragedy was planned on the basis of a decision reached by the Central Committee of Ittihad."

Ali Kemal also said: "Don't let us try to throw the blame on the Armenians; we must not flatter ourselves that the world is peopled by idiots."

I can quote dozens of more people, and this is only from the Turkish side. There are also thousands of pages of testimony and eye-witness accounts from British, French, American, German and Austrian sources.

I think Timetells means to say "innocent until and after proven guilty"

            Re: Innocent Until Proven Guilty

I was being sincere. This is not a laughing matter for Armenians or Turks.

I have read about those trials, they were at best incomplete and inconclusive.

As for the quotes, I have read them from both the Armenians Perspective and the Turkish and it is very difficult to sort through it all to get at the truth.

This is an issue that is very complicated and requires the kind of research and study that most people do not have. Objective people from both sides and from all parts of the world need to converge and research this until there is no doubt in anyone's mind as to the events that transpired almost a century ago.

If you seek a lasting solution, a peace and new understanding between Turks & Armenians then this approach is the only one that will work. Why? Because there are many people out there, that do not equate one race, one religion has higher than others. They see all life as important and all human history to be vital and important as a way to learn and move forward together.

look, everybody knows the genocide happened even the so called "skeptics" evidence is so overwhellming that denying the Armenian genocide is just being ignorant and just plain stupit. Why should we be paying so much money and using so much effort to have a gencoide that happened be recognized. Its our societies courrupt way of thinking that makes this happen, the corrupt and immoral politicians that show no respect towards history and suffuring of other people. And politicians have the guts to deny the Armenian genocide in front of old, frail, women who survived it and witnessed their families being massacared. Friendship and deals viewed higher than the death of 1.5 million Armenians. Humanity is at its lowest point

                  Timetells = genocide denier.

Yeah, murderers were tried in absentia because they were cowards. No incompleteness or inconclusiveness about it. The historical record is certain, its a genocide.

Its a matter of judicial notice.

I wonder if you tried to use the same excuse on your math test in school when teacher asked you 2+2

It probably didn't work then and it sure as hell is not going to work now. There is nothing to debate. Everything has been established and documented VERY clearly and you just have to open your eyes to see it.
