Bank Bombing in Diyarbakir

A large explosion took place at the Diyarbakir branch of HSBC Bank Wednesday evening, though no deaths or injuries were reported in the incident the blast incurred major property damage to the bank office.
No motive has been determined yet in the explosion that occurred around 19.45 at the HSBC branch in Dortyol, Diyarbakir, a southeastern Turkish city. No deaths or injuries were reported but local citizens were on edge as special bomb destruction teams examined the bank branch. An ambulance was called to the scene in case of possible injuries, and Brigade forces were present upon reports of a vehicle leaking gas in the region. Diyarbakir Police Chief Zeki Catalkaya examined the crime scene to determine the cause of the explosion. The motive and cause of the explosion will be announced after authorities complete their investigations.
