I don't really know about their domestic music industry (though I'm familiar with notable crossovers like Rammstein and... Milli Vanilli, LOL) but the fact that David Hasselhoff achieved pot superstardom and continues to be venerated there freaks me out.
Is it from ROA or the diaspora? Sounds very similar to things from Turkey, for example compare it to the Mirkelam & Kargo "Yollar" track I posted here a while ago. Suggests that there are now modernist and probably youthful sections of society in both countries that are very similar in outlook and taste. If true, an encouraging thing, I think. Yollar yollar asfalt kader. Yollar yollar beklediğim. Yollar yollar terkettiğim.
Turkey is much further ahead in that regard.
Have you heard of Hayko Cepkin? He's a rock musician of Armenian origin (born in Istanbul) but enjoys mainstream success in Turkey.

Have not heard that name before but I looked on youtube and found some videos that I have def seen before andliked but without knowing who they were by.
