Re: Where do you get your movies from?

I see movies in theatres cause they're just always better on the big screen. Sometimes I'll watch them online(not download), if I've just missed them in theatres and don't want to wait to rent/buy them. I buy the dvds for the movies I like best, and if a movie was good but not enough to buy I'll rent it.

I can't believe so many of you still rent! How much does renting a DVD cost? 3-5 dollars? That's how much I used to pay for DVDs. I haven't bought any DVDs for months because of Blu-ray, but the last 20 or so DVDs I've bought cost me less than $5 each; brand new, sealed. Only reason Blockbuster still stands is because of online rentals; watch that collapse and say goodbye to all stores.

I would use Netflix but it doesn't fit my demands. I can't wait a day or two until my movies to reach me; especially during my film marathon, I was pushing 3 films a day.

I don't see any harm in downloading movies, it's the same as much and I end up buying most of them anyway for my collection. I currently have 12 movies downloaded on my computer. I burn them, watch them, erase disc, burn them, watch them, and so on.

Meanwhile, I search through TCM and other channels and record movies I can't seem to download. This is the most convenient way for me.

I don't know how much of the country these Red Box vending machines have spread to, but at $1/movie per day, plus your first one being free (and free for as many different credit cards as you can use ), I use that to assess if I like a movie, and if I do, I buy the actual DVD. For as cheap as most DVDs can be had now, I find downloading them silly.

I just might have the most cheaply assembled new DVD collection EV4R!!!111 Each week, I'll look at the online flyers for stores like Best Buy, and if I find something of interest, I snag it. I've spent no more than $4, to maybe $10 at most if I want the super duper, 8 billion disc versions of a DVD.

I download, watch and delete it within 24 hrs. Zero waste, no packaging... good for the environment. Much like O.B. tampons... want not, waste not. Also makes good use out of the price paid for cable internet.

Netflix has more than one plan and you can change it... so when you're doing your marathons you can have more than 3 out at a time.

Yeah, I saw that plan. Either way, it didn't work well because when I receive my 3 films and finish them in a day, I have to wait 1-2 days until I receive another 3. What do I do in the meantime?

No, you can have 5, 6, 7, or 8 at a time. There's flexibility. So if you were watching 2 or 3 a day for a few days in a row, 8 at a time plan would be fine to eliminate a delay.
