So, as Siggie tries to put together a team of readers for her book club, perhaps we can also form a Film Club for those who are less intelligent. I'm kidding, of course, but this could easier for those are otherwise busy because watching a film takes much less time and effort. It's also quite accessible because of Netflix and other forms of renting.
The goal is to pick a film collecively, we will all have a week or so to watch it, then come back in here and discuss it together. This is a great opportunity to come across films you otherwise would never bother to, and it allows us to participate in a group discussion.
Perhaps, in the future, we could do a tie-in. If Siggie suggests a novel that has been adapted into a film, we could all read the source material first. I really doubt that would happen though because, let's face it, it's not going to happen.
So, is anybody interested? If enough people are, we can start discussing what films to watch. Please, don't start recommending films just yet! It's best to see who is in so far, then begin discuss what kind of films to watch (genres, filmmakers) and take it from there.
