Battle Royale was pretty twisted. The story is set in a near dystopian future, forty students are essentially kidnapped and forced to battle it out in three days, if only one student is not left, they will all be killed by means of a exploding necklace. Everything that is holy, everything that is human, is questioned in this game survival. Do you do what you need to stay alive? Do you protect the ones you love? Do you turn to your darker side? Do you try and survive as a group, figure a way out? It's an analogy to surviving in a political and economical climate that may very well lie in the not too distant future. Great movie.

Not to mention, I love watching boxing sooooo that was a major plus!! 
other than that, i recommend this b/c it's one of those movies that doesn't need a whole bunch of explosions to be enjoyable.
