seriously tho... this is huge. we already knew that listening to mozart helped one's brain perform better. i used to listen to mozart before every major exam since back in 7th-8th grade & trust me it worked. but the fact that they've actually figured out the whole molecular whatchamacallit to the whole thing & will soon prove it & make it official is huge news!!

i dont believe in scientific theories just for the sake of believing them. i think most scientific findings are extremely biased & they mean very little in my opinion. i believe in my own experiences, which dont take place in labs. i listened to mozart, beethoven & bach in high school all the time & always did really well in school despite my less-than-admirable studying efforts & lack of interest in much of the subject matter. being exposed to such music without a doubt helps strengthen the ability to efficiently manage, store & access information in one's brain.Originally posted by duskenI have heard that the Mozart Effect idea was debunked.
before u dismiss a theory because it was hypothesized by one scientist & subsequently disproven by another, which just brings us back to square one, give it a try & see if it works for u.

Yes, but you are making a generalized conclusion based on only your experience with no control. There is no way of knowing whether or not you would have done just as well had you not been listening to that selection of music. I have heard that studies show the supposed Mozart Effect lasts ten seconds or so. Scientific studies are all we have. You say they are biased but nothing is more so than personal experience.Originally posted by ardeniki dont believe in scientific theories just for the sake of believing them. i think most scientific findings are extremely biased & they mean very little in my opinion. i believe in my own experiences, which dont take place in labs. i listened to mozart, beethoven & bach in high school all the time & always did really well in school despite my less-than-admirable studying efforts & lack of interest in much of the subject matter. being exposed to such music without a doubt helps strengthen the ability to efficiently manage, store & access information in one's brain.
