oh but it does... i used to listen to public enemy & MC Hammer. i didnt like jazz at all & i guess i sorta had a neutral opinion on classical music. this when i was reeally young. later on, i started loving classical & hating rap. mainly i listened to beatles, zeppelin, santana, U2, aerosmith..

things have changed. now, my life revolves around jazz. i am a slave to classical music. i still love the beatles, ledzep & the others. & every time i hear gangtsa rap, i want to kill people.. starting with the guys who r creating all that irritating noise & recording it because for some reason beyond my comprehension, some ppl actually enjoy polluting their brain listening to that garbage.

im sorry. i have a totally open mind about all kinds of music. i respect types of music that i dont even listen to just because it has some content or a positive purpose. gangtsa rap is not music. its total garbage. no original content whatsoever. & absolutely no purpose other than to make youth believe that money buys happiness & if u dont have it, then u should kill the ppl who do. make like ure from the "ghetto" & u had a hard life & now ure driving a souped up hummer wit yo b!tches'z n ho'z.. FAACK YOUU... soo irritating.. tupac was the last & the only great in terms of gantsa rap. its over now. somebody has to plant the 10th & final bullet in 50cent's hollow skull & ppl have to stop taking eminem seriously..

im sorry.... so yea..... taste does change with age lol

well it sorta goes something like this: since i started playing music, age 11-ish, i always wanted to have a strong base as an instrumentalist, so i took classical piano lessons. that gave me an appreciation for the music already. & what it also did is it helped me understand the inner workings of music, so the better i get at it & the deeper an understanding of music i develop, i get a better idea of how i could evaluate the musicality of music i hear.. gangsta rap has none whatsoever. but whatever ive liked in the past, by learning about music, i gain a better appreciation for it, if its good.. some of the stuff i listened to before, now i realize that it wasnt so great after all. & it doesnt have to be complicated. i listen to bob marley all the time.. its so simple, but what a groove.. u know what i mean? its really musical

          words are meaningless and forgettable...
words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm.

I've been listening to Mozart for the past week now. I can't tell if it's working or not, but I have been more studious. I've been reading a ton of papers on the neural basis of visual perception and aesthetic judgement.

If I listen to classical music while studying, it's usually either Vivaldi or Debussy. I would assume classical music, in general, has a meditative effect. On the other hand, Vivaldi makes me cry.

Vivaldi and Debussy? They are drastically different; it is odd that it would be between those two.

This research is pretty new, but I dont think I buy it. Even the guy who did the original research thinks its out of control. The effect was not huge and it was a short temporary change at that.
Besides, the article misspelled skepticism (scepticism).
