Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I actually haven't listened to Armenian rap myself.. and to be honest, I have very little interest in rap IN Armenian. However, english lyrics with Armenian rappers sorta interest me... trying to get a group off the ground eventually.. right now the group is just me, lol.

Armenian rappers need to do ALOT of things to improve.
Here are the obvious few that I'm going to point out:
1) Armenian rappers need to STOP LISTENING TO ONLY 2pac and broaden their knowledge on the different styles there are. Often times they only listen to 2pac and try to mimic his lyrics, flow and delivery.
2) Armenian rappers also need to fix the way they pronounce the words they do. Pay special attention to how Westcoast artists anounce the words in contrast to the Eastcoast ones.
3) Armenian rappers need to get the production to their beats at a higher level as well. Often times, it sounds too amatuerish, like it was recorded out of the garage or something, instead of having that studio production sound.
4) Armenian rappers need to know when to double up on their lyrics and kick back when they need to. It's like they double up throughout the whole track and it gets boring. You need to know where to put those accents in your ryhme and when to just ryhme like normal.
5) Armenian rappers need to broaden the extent of words they use in their raps. Most of them rap to the extent to only the slangs and thug lyrics that 2pac used. Pick up a freakin dictionary... learn a few more words so you sound different than the rest.
6) Armenian rappers need to make genius play of words and metaphores in their ryhmes. Listen to a lot of what the underground westcoast artists rap like. For example, Crooked I, Rass Kass, Planet Asia, Sly Boogie, and others. REALLY LISTEN to how they use their play of words.
7) Learn the art of freestyling a little more. If you get called to a battle in competitions, you really have to know your stuff and push your talent to the greatest extent to win the competition and gain some respect from the non-Armenian crowd.
8) Once the CD is finished, Armenian rappers need to market outside of the Armenian Community. I mean, ok fine.... you guys spread your CD's in the community but what good is it. That's not going to get you where you wanna get. Have you taken a look at how Latino rappers have expanded into the American market? You guys need to get a marketing rep or some sort of agent to have them put your CDs in Virgin Megastore, Tower Records, and other well known American Music establishments.
Just a few major errors I've noticed in the typical progress of Armenian rappers. Hopefully, some of these suggestions helps out one of them and opens their minds a little to make them succeed better.
Good luck to them all.Last edited by Guest; 08-12-2004, 12:15 PM.

You are right, I define my self as a Armenian, while you define your self as a Armo, cheers.Last edited by Virgil; 08-12-2004, 12:14 PM.

I'm not going to get involved in an argument with someone as close minded as you Virgil. Obviuosly you think I'm an idiot instead of bothering to wonder why soeone of at least average intelegence would beg to differ with you.. but no, I don't think as you do an dwith out knowing why I think what I think, you already disregard any validity I may have. Very good of you, now go play in your box."All I know is I'm not a Marxist." -Karl Marx
