Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Armenian Rap

Ok I just saw this infamous guy's profile. I have a couple of questions..
First of all, you are drinking, and you're underage. I don't know if you're actually drinking or just holding up the beer can. Also, you have a cigarette in your hand, also illegal for you. What kind of role model do you think you are to the young Armenians who listen to your music? What message are you sending out? I know you weren't raised in the ghetto...so you really shouldn't have much to complain about...so why all the bad behavior?
Also, I notice that every other word in your lyrics is a cuss word. It doesn't really take much talent to cuss and holla and shoot things. Why must you resort to such words in order to show your creativity? Kanye West is the BEST rapper out today. He wears a suit and doesn't use profanity to the extreme. That's talent.
I don't mean to hurt anyone, but please just answer my questions.

Hmmm, I'm not very familiar with Armenian rap, or rap in general. However, I've heard some of A. Chilla (electonic?), Harry Kistorian, and R-Mean's music. I think the lyrics are kind of weak but I don't have anything to compare them too. I'm wondering if you guys have heard their music and if they're any good. What about that kid named Narek (One-2), Human Beirut, and the guy that calls himself Blind? Also, there is this chick called Surabian (but I think she's more hip hop than anything else). K, that's all I know (wow, I def. raised the average IQ here didn't I? jk).

I haven't listened to any Armenian rap, but I keep hearing about how the lyrics are weak.. I have a feeling this may be because to really do good rap you need to know a LOT of different words.. it sounds silly but it's true, you basically have to memorize the dictionary and know how to insert words where and make it flow and rhyme and not use the same word repeatedly in a verse. Armenians (and any one who immigrates to the U.S.) have a hard enough time learning the regular basic-level language, let alone mastering linguistics to weave dope rhymes. I may be wrong, but that might be the reason why so many of you are complaining the lyrics in Armenian rap is weak.
That said I'm having a kick ass time writing the chorus to my latest song "Space Cadet" now all I need is beats, lol...."All I know is I'm not a Marxist." -Karl Marx

Surabian, as a female artist, I would say is ok, but not that great. She needs to perfect her lyrics a little more. They're still sorta weak.
A. Chilla and R-Mean need to fix their accents. Plus they "double up" on pretty much throughout most of the track of any song. They need to get the basics and fundamentals of ryhming down a little more and fix their lyrics also.
I haven't heard of Harry Kistorian, Human Beirut, or Blind. If anyone has a sample of their demos or a song in which they rap in, please feel free to provide it. I would like to hear how they sound.
By the way, what ever happend to armenianrappers.com?
I used to check that sight out periodically to see if Armenian Rap has actually improved, but the website is down now. Anyone know?

It's sad that Armenian's have to resort to talentless crap like rap, but then again, degeneration is more of the rule, than the exception. How many of these rap "artists" can play any musical instrument, much less know musical notes? My guess is that since most of the masses are themselves knaves, swimming in the pond of ignorance, that they do not know any class or quality, thus it is easy to appease the tastes of the majority, who always as a rule outnumber those of quality.Achkerov kute.
