Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

As a matter of fact, I forgot to mention, I will be farting into the Mic to cover bass, hows that for thinking outside the traditional!

...ok ok....so back to the original concept of the thread, metal loving musicians that play basic instruments needed first....then the fancy stuff can follow.

This thread is really losing its intention.....pretty off-topic

..and so finally, I've recorded a very barebones Demo song...my first complete song with vocal tracks....and to my knowledge the first ever extreme metal song with verses in the Armenian language.

Please note: This aint profressional or anything, I did what I could with my very limited resources and crappy recording equip (or lack thereof)

The Theme of the song is of pre-Christian Armenian paganism....

Armenian's were among the first civilizations on earth, and the first nation to adopt christianity as the nations official religion...partly due to political pressure to differentiate from the zoroastrianism that was being spread through the surrounding areas. By Adopting Christianity, Armenia was able to preserve its civlization from assimilation into Persian territories.

Some say the Armenians of the Urtarian period had beliefs similar to the polytheistic greeks, while others say before Christianity, Armenains followed more so of zoroastrianism which depicts the concept of a battle of good and evil forces.

All thats left are clues of Armenia's ancient past. It is commonly known that Armenians used to praise the power of the Sun, Fire, and all nature. There are even remnants of Dragon and other serpent praise in ancient Armenia.

What stands out most in terms of pre-christian Armenia is the symbol of eternity. It is a whirling symbol (I need to find a good picture of it) that represents the sun, which ties in with the mysterious sun worship of the past, but also is said to represent other such forces as cylones/tornados, and even black holes in space.

Anyway, theres a lot of stuff in the Armenian culture that the young Armenians do not appreciate/show interest in. Specifically in America, the desire to deny ones own heritage is immense because speaking, thinking, and acting in other customs isn't "cool"

With this musical experiment I hope to find other young Armenians that may be interested in being metal as f___, while using elements of the unique Armenian culture. Anyone with an open mind should be able to appreciate the song, but please keep in mind its just a demo I did on my own with just a computer and xxxxty equip....its a taste of what COULD become something a lot better if I get together other musicians and form a band.

ENOUGH TALKING!!!! LISTEN TO IT WITH AN OPEN MIND!!! ENJOY and lemme know whatcha think.

Andre C. Avanessian - The Eternal Sun (Demo Vocals)

            3.35mb 128kbps mp3

and the lyrics if anyone is interested

Note: 2 verses are sung in Armenian but are written with English letters....good luck decoding them, hehe. The vocals are recorded with crappy equipment too please keep that in mind when listening.

I think the Instrumentals and Music in general has a lot of potential... but Lyrics/vocals should be structured differently. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was like the whenever the music was getting really good, the words would start to block it out.

Personally I think the lyrics/vocals "blocking out" the music can relate partly to mix volume adjustment and recording factors more than structure but naturally there will be criticisms as to how I created the song. It's especially difficult for people that have not heard a good share of songs within the extreme Black/Death metal genres which typicially have similar song structures**assuming you havnt** but I'm glad that you gave it a fair listen, It's just an early demo song.

Granted I don't listen to as much metal as perhaps I should. Over all I think it's going in a pretty cool direction. That was all just you right? one guy? pretty impressive...

Yeah, it really isnt my choice to be writing music all on my own and stuff.... but it turns out that my tastes in music arnt too common among Armenians, even within the Armenian "Metal" crowds. I'm hoping that maybe after showing a little taste of my solo work I just might find some people with similar interests and be able to create much better music with real drumming and other instruments/people contributing to songwriting, heh.

Well, I'm an old metal fan if you mean Judas Priest, or Metallica, Pantera. "Numetal" isn't my forte.
