Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Exactly falloutboy - Gevo has no clue regrding performance cars. I met this guy the other day who had purchased a new 3 series and traded in his Mustang GT and he was commenting on how hapy he was - that the 3 beat the Mustangs drivability in every way and how much more pleasure he was getting from driving.

An interesting side note - my Audi wagon (with a 6 cyl engine) can pretty much match or (in most cases beat) nearly any performance spec of the American muscle cars of old...and when it comes to handling/cornering - you can forget about it. Not that I don't love the old muslce cars - I do...and in fact I own an old Mustang (64 1/2 289 4 barrel V8 convertable!).

The BMW I just bught I got through the Euro deliver program that you purchase through your local dealer in the US. In fact, the car I got is not available in Europe at all - but is a special option package available in the US & Canada only. It is an M-tuned car - but does not have the M engine (shame)...but cost me 15K less then I could have had an M for (and - being a sedan and without the M engine insurance is much less as well)...in fact performance is very similar to a (US spec) e30M3...but it rides a bit smoother...In fact - mentioning Nurburgring...was there...but missed getting a start time (open track times - awesome!) with my new Bimmer by 20 minutes...majorly bummed...what an oppurtunity...oh well...but yeah driving in the Alps (for nearly 2 weeks) and then on the Autobahn (most I ever got it up to was 125 MPH...but always had the family in the car...)...stilll great fun (and I can't imagine so easily and enjoyably driving some truck or 4x4 hundreds of miles at 100+ speeds - comfortably and with no great thrills...well - it was very cool....)

Again falloutboy - love your cars...both. The 2002 is a gem (never get rid of it - never!) and an M3...no matter what stripe - well is pretty special IMO. And I know they drive great...I assume they are M/T......

      Stop The Ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea all E30 M3's came with manual transmission and almost 90% of 2002 came with manual as well, which mine is also, but my dad and I converted it from a 4 speed toa 5 speed off a 1983 320i....great car too also very very healthy ( Its does 2700 RPM's @ 70mph....thats NUTS)

How is the ring? how much is it to ride there? are there any cars you could rent out for a few hours ( specifically an E30 M3)

Was the M5 taxi there? I heard that guy has done over 12000 laps of the ring.....SHEEESH

      OK bud, take it easy

      BAD LUCK TO NEGATIVE PEOPLE

I think its about 12 Euro a lap for your own car at the ring. I was looking at a special 5 laps for 56 Euro.

Yes the M5 taxi still there...quite a thrill ride I gather...

Harut - have you ever driven a nice BMW or Audi...I mean really driven one - fast, on twisty roads? I really don't think youor would be saying that they are overated if you were a real driver. My previous experience with BMW had been a few rentals in Europe - mostly lower end 4 bangers - and they were OK - nice certainly...but OK - not overwhelming - but when I began looking into a more performance orientated Bimmer for our latest car I was amazed how quickly (immediatly) I could drive very fast with it and with great confidence. Everything just clicked - the handling was superb, the clutch & shift action (facotry short shifter) were precise and just very nicely executed. I also test drove various Japanese cars - including the new Acura TL - a nice car - but one I would never consider owning - it wallowed on the road - where the 3 series was very precise, it drove like a large car - where the BMW manages to feel small and nimble (even though it is a fairly heavy and very solid car), the shift action on the TL was bizaar and difficult to get comfortable with, it had wheelspin on hard acceleration and lots of torque steer. Sure the G35 is much better - and the Mazda Rx-8 drives just as nice (a really nice driving car) - but these are excetions and not the rule. Additionally - the safety of the Euro cars is unmatched.

And I certainly don't find any of the older BMWs ugly. Obviously they are styled to the times. One thing I've noticed though is a much higher percentage of older BMWs out there on the road that still look and drive prety nice. I think it says alot about the car. The new designs haven't quite taken me yet...and I think they will have to re-think them. Problem is the last series - particularly the E46 3 series was pretty close to perfection in auto design and execution - at least in my eyes...though the older BMWs - like the e36 3 series, the previos 5 series and even some of the earlier models were really brilliantly executed autos.

I used to be somewhat anti-BMW myself - not because f the execution of the autos - which I always resected...but due to the arrogance (and poser nature) of some of the drivers...Ive since come around to really respect the cars - and i think anyone who is objective and understand what real driving pleasure and capability is about would agree.

            I've driven my friens 02 A4 1.8T and 2000 bmw 325. Havn't been on twisty roads though.

I've also driven the new TL had it for 2 days as a loaner car and I want too impressed with the power and handling. It drove like a large car because it is a large car. its a 4 door sedan what do you expect. You should test drive an S2000.

I guess it all depends on what your looking for in a car. Some people like nice comvort some like precise handling and some like a little bit of both.

I always felt that BMW was a car with nice handling (but not the best) with ok ride comvort.

Maybe you give me a ride in your car one day to change my mind

OK, first the talk is about old BMW's compared "power" wise **torque and bhp** to the generally same yeared muscle cars.. Now, i dont recall stating that the mustang ever was more "drivable" than any BM, infact that would be a stupid thing to say since, in all of my experiances *yes experiances* the mustang, cuda, charger etc.. is no match in a real street race against a BM. the new mustangs are to large and heavy and are not anything more than a mediocore sports car with a rather powerful engine *not all*.. so. u have no idea how much i do know about these vehicles, and i dont care if i ffend your "taste" in vehicles if i say that those vehicles in those pics are butt ugly.. lol.. i know more about cars than you think i do ... and.. i have to get back to work!!. ....

No - you made a claim that your friends stock truck with 235 hp or some such could out perform these cars - (which i correctly disputed). Later you introduced some talk of muscle cars and Mustangs and said these cars don't compare - which I will again dispute...though I love old muscle cars - and even like the new stangs - Cobras particularly of course - and Saleens are nice (whose Saleen is that next to your car Harut? And what kind of car is that you drive? Looks col - good job BTW)....

..oh yeah - and your claim that old BMWs are not quick - just "jerkey" - lol..need I say more...

OK Gevo - so your truck then....so in what way can your truck out perform that M3 (on a street or track...)...even the 2002...pleeease....

Have you ever driven a German performance car? Can you drive a stick? Ever drive fast on anything but a staight-away?

You remind me of all the numb-nuts in their SUVs, pick-ups and mini-vans who with their V-6 or V-8 engines think they can actually race against my Audi sitting at a light or in traffic and such. If I even bother (ussually I don't - but sometimes I just can't help myself...besides I like "zoom-zoom"...lol) I will let them go 1-2 car lengths at fullthrottle while I sit and wait - then with a flick of my foot and a quick shift - I shoot past them as if they were unmoving...(of course I can do this with all manner of supposedly "fast" cars and such- like Acura TLs, Infinity G35s, INfinty FX45s, Nissan Maxima's and Altima's. Mustangs and Camaros etc etc...OK maybe only a 1 car lead...)
