What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

Georgia got ass-raped. Russia will get Ossetia and Abkhazia will get to choose independence/annexation. Russia will install a pro-Russian government. NATO/UN/The West will have to keep it's nose out of Russian affairs for a while lest it wishes to end up like Georgia.

Georgia will never be the same after this rape from Moscow.

I'm not too sure about that. At best this was a big wake up call to the west to take Russia more seriously on the world stage. But we will have to wait a few more days or even weeks to really figure out why Russia stopped earlier than most of us thought they would/should have. Plus, I don't see the globalists wanting to give up sackaxxxxvilli without something in return, after all Moscow didn't dispose of him (yet).
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

US planners may have screwed up this operation, but that does not mean that thaey do not have contingincy plans. Escalating the conflict throughout the Caucuses may be one of them.
With that said, I would not be too suprised if the US gave Azerbaijan the green light to attack Artsakh. Regardless, I'm confident that Armenia and Artsakh are on top of the situation.

“ARI UNION” ENCOURAGES ARMENIANS LIVING IN DJAVAKHQ TO STAY APART

Armenian “Ari Union” is worried about the Georgian-Osetian military conflict, which has already become the rason for destruction in the region and the death of hundreds of people.

“Georgian troops have begun an undeclared war against South Osetia. Artsakh-NKR. South Osetia and Abkhazia have already gained independence, therefore, the action of Georgian troops is considered as invasion”.

It is obvious, that the nationalistic authorities of Georgia are trying to re-occupy the land of South Osetia, once given to them during the Soviet period. That is why, “Ari Union” urges Georgian authorities to avoid engaging Armenians of Djavakhq in another war. Meanwhile, RA government should find an effective method to protect its citizens from becoming victims of Georgia-West impositions.

Georgia would not begin military actions without the support of the US. That is why George Bush has urged the Russian side to remove its troops from Georgia, thus making clear that the US considers South Osetian conflict as another inconsistency between Russia and Georgia.
Besides, it is the support of NATO, that makes Georgia to take chances without knowing the real consequences of this war.

Georgian mass media are now accusing Armenia in sending destroyers and bombers against Georgian troops in Tskhinvali. Although, the false statements have already been denied by the MFA of RA, further instigations from Georgian side are still possible.

Moreover, Turkey-Israel-US military union has its own interests in Armenian Highland and Caucasus as well, therefore it may try to provoke another conflict in NKR region.

“Ari Union” urges Armenian authorities to take immediate measures in order to prevent all the possible dangerous actions against Armenia and Artsakh-NKR.

Here are some interesting events that happened today in the war:

07:32 GMT Russian special services arrest a senior Georgian foreign intelligence officer. It says he was gathering intelligence on Russia’s military in the North Caucasus and following the movements of the South Ossetian president Eduard Kokoity. According to the FSB he is the deputy director of the Georgian Foreign Intelligence Service.

08:54 GMT - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev decides to end military operation in Georgia.

10:02 GMT – "Tskhinvali and Sukhumi are our Jerusalem, and we won’t wait for 2,000 years to reclaim them," says the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament. [LOL what an idiotic statement]

11:41 GMT – Tskhinvali mayor says 70 percent of the city’s buildings were destroyed during the conflict.

12:35 GMT – President Saakashvili announces that Georgia is to quit the Commonwealth of Independent States and calls on other members to follow.

15:59 GMT – Detailed battle plan discovered in a Georgian staff vehicle sheds light on Tbilisi’s plans for South Ossetia, says Russian military official.

16:31 GMT – Georgian troops have been forced out of Kodori gorge, according to Abkhazian Deputy Defence Minister.

                  Western propoganda exposed

                  -------------------

CNN blamed for using misleading war video

American broadcaster CNN has been accused of using the wrong pictures in their coverage of the conflict in South Ossetia. A Russian cameraman says footage of wrecked tanks and ruined buildings, which was purported to have been filmed in the town of Gori, in fact showed the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali.

Gori was said to be about to fall under the control of the Russian army but the cameraman says the video was actually shot in Tskhinvali, which had been flattened by Georgian shelling.

Aleksandr Zhukov, from the Russiya Al-Yaum channel, said: “When we arrived and news came that Gori was being shelled, I saw my footage. I said: that’s not Gori! That’s Tskhinvali. Having crawled through the length and breadth of Tskhinvali, I don’t need much to tell from which point this or that footage was recorded. I can swear in front of any tribunal. I can point at this location on the map of the town, because I and the cameraman of the Rossiya channel videotaped that.”

A very astute analysis: It's time for Russia to exact a heavy deal with the EU and the US. They are in the position to bargain for anything they want.

Russia: Georgia must accept non-use of force deal
                      Tue Aug 12, 2008 2:14pm EDT
                      By Oleg Shchedrov

MOSCOW, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Moscow will agree to peace with Georgia if it removes its troops far beyond the borders of South Ossetia and signs a legally binding promise not to attack it, Russia's foreign minister said on Tuesday.

Kremlin leader Dmitry Medvedev and French President Nicolas Sarkozy -- in Moscow to mediate -- agreed on principles aimed at putting a stop to five days of conflict over Georgia's tiny separatist province.

They included a ceasefire, a pledge to renounce force, free passage for humanitarian aid and the withdrawal of troops to their bases. The need to determine the future status of South Ossetia, which seeks full independence, was also mentioned.

"These principles either reflect Russia's demands to the Georgian leadership or its intentions concerning the pace and aims of its peacekeeping operation in South Ossetia," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters after they were announced.

Lavrov made it clear that Moscow sought tough terms -- the non-use of force and a troop pullout were core demands, he said.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili's pledge not to attack the province, made after talks with the French and Finnish foreign ministers in Tbilisi on Monday, was not enough, Lavrov added.

"So far this has only been fixed in an informal political form," he said. "It requires the signing of a legally binding treaty on the non-use of force. This is a key point."

Georgian troops, which pushed into South Ossetia to restore Tbilisi's control after 16 years of self-proclaimed independence, should leave the border zone, he added.

"This is an absolutely binding condition that the Georgian side is to pull back its forces not only from South Ossetia, but also from other areas of Georgia from which they can shell and bomb the region," Lavrov said.

Lavrov was confident that Sarkozy, who flew to Tbilisi in the evening, would persuade Saakashvili to back the plan.

But he said Russia, which ordered its troops in the province to halt fire on Tuesday, was ready to be firm.

When asked what would happen if Georgia failed to back the plan, Lavrov said: "We will be forced to take other measures to prevent any repetition of the situation that emerged because of the outrageous Georgian aggression." (Editing by Meg Clothier)
