Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

          Let's all understand this misrepresented event. The demonstrations are actually not directed against the Islamic republic itself and Mousavi does not oppose it, the man's a conservative himself. It's against Ahmadinejad and the alleged vote fraud that happened.

          The Islamic part is not going anywhere, that's just a dream of the Iranian diaspora and what the Western media is trying to make it seem like. The West is again meddling into other country's internal affairs.

            I went down to Wilshire yesterday for the demonstrations and there was a good crowd in front of the Federal Building. This is not your normal demonstrations; we want a revolution and want these monkeys out of power. Enough is enough; it is time for Iranians to claim their country from these tyrants. They are no longer a legitimate government after fooling us and stealing our votes in broad daylight. We ask the West to continue the coverage of the demonstrations in Iran aggressively showing how the Iranian people stand for freedom, democracy, and human rights and to never give any credibility to this regime.

            It’s a brave new world. This has far more implications than just what is going on in Iran. No longer do we the people of the world will have to listen to biased media. No longer do we the people of the world have to be lead like sheep to the slaughter. This has ALL governments scared and concerned. The news is flowing from the street. The technology behind the voices is something unseen before which cannot be controlled by Tyrants. The people are now the reporters using their phones and computers. We can be at the control of our own destiny. Whether we can take our country back at this point is yet to be determined, but those in power all over the world are now aware. It is our world and it is time for us to take it back. Peace and safety be to with all my brothers and brave sisters in Iran. They have now set the stage for generations to come.

            This is the straw that broke the camels back…………….the fight is on. Freedom!!!

              Fed, you're right that the situation in Iran is misunderstood by many people. But I don't think that's the case here in HC forum.
              Mousavi is of course an another advocate of the Islamic republic. But do you think that it's possible someone to openly criticize the regime in Iran and then run for the presidency?
              Mousavi won't make any change more than Khatami. Even if he wants, he won't be allowed. Nonetheless, he still represents more freedom, better relations with the West, etc.
              I don't believe the protestors will be able to take down Ahmedinejad. Yet, hopefully, they will make a difference.

                It's about speaking up and demanding the rights you were promised by your government.

                Mousavi isn't a whole lot better, but he's a step in the right direction. They have to be realistic about who they can get elected.

                  Yes, that's pretty much it with him. Ahmadinejad is facing serious pressure due to mismanagement in the country coupled with the worldwide economic crisis. Mousavi has also offered to get rid of the "moral police" and install more independent TV stations. But people are fooling themselves when they think that this is to or will topple the Islamic regime. The people put the Islamic regime there in the first place anyway.

                  The foreign policy is out of the control of the president regardless and this Obama character seems to be alright with talking with whoever it is in power at the moment. The only thing I see happening different in terms of foreign policy is that Mousavi will not talk about the Jewish massacres of 1939-1945. Mousavi is in favour of Iran's nuclear right which is the current excuse dug up by the West to antagonise Iran and try to weaken it.

                    That's funny how Americans bent over when

                    1.Bush was twice UNELECTED,
                    2.Pointed finger at bin Laden few hours after phony 911
                    3.Invaded Iraq and Afg. on pack of lies
                    4.When Democrats got majority in Congress to end Iraq fiasco and did nothing
                    5.When Obama-change brought no change at all but continues kidnappings, torture, wars, bail outs, illegal wiretaps...

                    ...is there any wonder that Americans and other brain-washed don't see the forrest because of the trees?

                    Te West has absolutely no right to point one finger at Iran.

                      Not going to derail this thread by talking about the content specifically, but what does that have to do with Iran and supporting those who are willing to demand their rights?
