What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

Re: 150 passengers on board a flight from Tehran to Yerevan feared dead

Perhaps Israel or this Italian newspaper does not know that the Armenia-Turkish border is closed, fenced up and heavily militarised?

An Iranian plane crash two weeks ago – which left 168 people dead – was caused by the explosion of sophisticated fuses slated to be delivered to Hezbollah, Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported Saturday, quoting sources in the Middle East.

According to the report, the pilot of the Tupolev plane, which was making its way from Tehran to Armenia, sent an emergency warning 16 minutes after takeoff. Shortly afterwards, the plane crashed in northwest Iran.

According to the sources, the aircraft was carrying a large number of modern fuses composed of 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of explosives and electrical instrumentation.

The report is in line with testimonies on explosion sounds heard before the crash. According to the sources, the plane was meant to transfer the fuses from Iran to Armenia, and from there to Syria through Turkey, and then on the ground to Lebanon. This route was chosen, according to exiled opposition sources, so as not to draw attention.

According to the report, the transfer of arms was a special operation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and some of its members were among the crash victims. It was also reported that the presence of security forces at the site of the crash was not a coincidence.

According to information received from Lebanon, the weapon was to be hidden in one of the shelters built by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. However following an explosion which destroyed such a facility on July 14, the Iranian decided to hide the fuses north of the Litani River.

Yeah, this story is posted on many Israeli websites. I guess they want to spread the rumour that the explosives were put on the plane by Iranians so they can be exonerated of any wrong doing.

Armenia denies gun running for Hezbollah

YEREVAN, August 3 (RIA Novosti) - Armenia denied on Monday reports that an airliner that crashed on July 15 was carrying arms for the Lebanon-based radical Hezbollah group.

The Iranian Caspian Airlines Tu-154, en route from Tehran to Yerevan, crashed 200 kilometers (124 miles) from the Iranian capital killing all 168 people on board.

Some foreign media earlier said the airliner crashed following an explosion in the hold.

"We do not have such information. There are no grounds for it. The dissemination of such information is an unfriendly step with regard to Armenia," said Serob Karapetyan, head of flight security at Armenia's Civilian Aviation Administration.

He added that according to the Interstate Aviation Committee, the crash was caused by an engine fire.

Caspian Airlines Denies Transport of Ammunition on Ill-Fated Flight

TEHRAN (Armenpress)—The Yerevan office of the Iranian carrier Caspian Airlines Monday denied that the ill-fated flight from Tehran to Yerevan that crashed on July 15 had weapons and ammunition on board.

The Italian “Corriere della sera” newspaper reported that weapons and ammunition were on board the flight and were intended for ground transport from Armenia to Hezbollah factions in Syria and Lebanon.

The newspaper reported that the crash resulted from the explosion of the ammunition and was part of a covert operation by Iran’s government to supply weapons to Hezbollah.

The Caspian Airlines officials insisted that the decoding of the “black boxes” was still under way.

Baku residents bring charge against Armenia

“We don’t take this information seriously,” Shemi Tsuri, Israeli Ambassador to Armenia stated, commenting on the statement of arms intended for Hezbollah aboard the TU-154 crashed aircraft. The statement was voiced during the Otkritaya Studiya (Open Studio) program on the Israel+ TV channel. They say the crash was caused by a blast of the arms. The claim was previously made by the Italian Corriere della sera daily.

Noubar Aslanyan, a member of the Armenian and Israeli Composers’ Unions, invited to the program stated that had previously hosted David Kon and Alex Veksler (emigrated from Baku to Israel) spread slander about Armenia, which, “being Iran’s friend and Israel’s enemy,” tried to supply arms to the latter’s enemies.

After this program Noubar Aslanyan applied to Israeli Ambassador and received a reply that Israel does not take this information seriously.

This is correct as far as I can tell Federate. Israeli news websites that I visit play it down and in the 'talk backs' majority are making fun of it.

HUMAN ERROR BLAMED FOR IRAN AIR CRASH

                      PRESS TV
                      Mon, 10 Aug 2009 14:46:35 GMT

Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) says pilot error and excessive
landing speed were the main causes of the Aria Qeshm plane crash in
the city of Mashhad on July 24.

Of the 153 passengers and 15 crew, 16 people were killed when a
Russian-built Ilyushin Il-62M, owned by a Kazakh company and leased
by Iran's Aria Qeshm company, overshot the runway after touchdown
and smashed through a perimeter wall.

The incident also saw 31 people injured who were immediately taken
                      to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Faramarz Sarvi, the director of the CAO Flight Standards Department,
said that after more than 4,200 hours of investigation and based
on information retrieved from the plane's black boxes, officials
found that human error, not equipment failure, had led to the tragic
                      incident.

"Because of the high-speed, the pilot apparently lost control of the
plane upon landing, causing it to run off the runway," said Sarvi,
adding that both the plane and its crew had passed all pre-flight
                      safety inspections before take-off.

Sarvi rejected reports suggesting that the crew were involved in a
heated argument at the time of the crash, although the xxxxpit voice
recorder indicated to distractive conversations between the pilot
and Mehdi Dadpey, the airline's managing director, who was onboard.

He added that this was a breach of proper xxxxpit management and
played a significant role in the crash.

The incident was the second major airline catastrophe to have befallen
Iran in a period of 10 days.

On July 15, an airliner went down near Jannat-abad village, killing
all 168 people onboard. The plane, a Russian-made Tupolev Tu-154M
belonging to Iran's Caspian Airlines, was flying from Tehran to

You gotta be pissed at this, basicly all those people died because a couple of a-holes were arguing.
