If i were Ankara, I would focus on my problems in my own country instead.Especially since Turkey wants to join the EU and has to fulfill the EU requirements.And let me repeat what I said before: Turkey is not in a position to lecture Greece or other countries as well when it comes to human rights.

Sorry Alexandros, but this is nonsense. Turkey has obviously many problems. And definitely should solve them.
But it does not mean she can not criticize other countries' actions. If we give the right to talk only to the "innocent" countries, then the world would become silent.

Here`s the problem though:

Was it correct by Turkey to accuse China for genocide against the Uyghurs during the troubles in the Chinish province Xinjiang for not so long time ago considering that Turkey herself hasn`t recognize the genocide against the Anatolian christians?

Was or is it correct by Turkey to criticize Greece or other (European) countries for human rights violations when Turkey is the worst human rights offender in Europe in 2008?

Conclusion: You want your country to criticize other countries?Fine.The problem is that considering that Turkey is the worst human rights offender in Europe in 2008 nobody will take Turkey seriously.And you know what: it will only make Turkey look more hypocritical.So yeah - go ahead and criticize then!

Ok guys, I've already stated that I'm truly and deeply sorry that Turkey has lost its Armenians, Greeks and Jéws. I disapprove the state's stance towards minorities. But this does not mean we should stay quiet when there is injustice towards Turkey. egeli, there has been MP from minorities:

And how many Turkish Non-Muslim or Turkish-Greek MPs has there been after 1964?Does the pogrom 1955 and the expulsion of the remaining Greeks in 1963 ring a bell?I think you`re missing egeli`s point.

What I meant by injustice is telling lies about Turkey such as she never had any non-muslim MPs after the foundation of republic. It's not a secret that the members of this forum are no Turkey lovers, and when you make such a statement (Turkey had no non-muslim MP in 80 years), nobody will question it and everybody will form wrong ideas.

As for discussing after 1963 period, this is ad hominem. egeli was proven to be wrong, now you want to change the subject.

No, obviously you didn`t read my post(s) in this thread.Since Turkey wants to join the EU and must fulfill the EU requirements which means improving human rights for example - which Turkey has started to do and should be commended for but there`s still a long way to go - it makes Turkey look silly or not to mention hypocritical considering Turkey`s history of human rights violations.

And as I said and I will repeat it again: Turkey is the worst human rights offender in Europe in 2008.Wouldn`t it been better to focus on their own problems instead of criticizing other countries for human rights violations which will only make Turkey look even more hypocritical?

This is nonsense. Whatever happens to Muslims in Greece is the problem of Turkey and all other countries. And when China starts to kill innocent Uyghurs, it is a problem of mine. As like problems of Armenians in Turkey is also the problem of Armenia.
