You've answered your own question. There wasn't a see-saw battle until Israel was forced on the region. Palestine was supposed to be free for all its inhabitants. People of the world would have been able to freely visit the area but instead the holy land has been taken hostage.

I believe xxxs deserved a state, they have lived in that area like the arabs for ages; Israel has the right to exist. When it comes to issue of Jerusalem, I think it should belong neither to the Israels nor to the Palestinians, it should be an independent city. And finally there should be a two state solution between the two of course.

Now when it comes to the conflict between the two, honestly blaming it on one side entirely is inappropriate. The Arab countries in the region have from the start attempted to destroy Israel, and naturally Israel has responded in order to survive. Have they done wrong things also? Of course they have.

I don't think there should be a state of Israel, it should go back to what it was under British mandate before the Zionists imported terrorism to the "holy" land.

Why not? xxxs have been living in that part of the world for ages, why don't they deserve a state? And how did they import terrorism to the holy land? It's been a see-saw conflict between the Arabs and Israelis in that area.

History's repeating itself... first it was the Palestinian notables and landowners who sold land to the Zionists, then stirred up the dispossessed population against the xxxs, now they're again selling land for some petty authority over a people stripped of everything...

I don't think with the current right-wing government in Israel there will be substantial progress. Even US is strained with Israel over several issues, so it's not the best atmosphere for a peace deal right now. Calling it the "struggle for free Palestine" is kind of absurd, as any viable solution is going to be two-state, so Palestine will be officially independent one day or later. Really it's solving those issues like the new settlements or the status of Jerusalem, those touchy subjects are the real problems here. Honestly I think Jerusalem should be an international city, city state, like Vatican City. With the governance headed by all three main religions that are represented there. Of course getting Israel to budge on this will be very hard, even getting them to stop new settlements is hard. But on other hand, people are also going to have to get used to Israel being there, and being a viable state, energy should not be put in trying to wipe out Israel, but trying to work out the best deal with the Israelis.

As opposed to ARF/Dashnak hardliners who prefer maintaining their impossible cause rather than accept reality and start doing something useful, doing things that can lead somethere other than down a dead-end road?

The problem is not the negotiating position of the Palestinian Authority. The problem is Israel and the unconditional and unquestioning support from its poodle, America. The leaks prove that.

ARF needs to hold on to impossible cause.....somebody has to and can't let off for future sake, as outragious it might seem (more outragious things have happened in the world).

As far as Israel and US, why would anyone blame them for pushing only for their own interests? are they obligated to make concession to the Pals?

I blame the Arabs more than US in this struggle. Now they are not only bending over for Israel without benefit of vaseline , they are bargenning away with our Armenian quarter as well, getting us mixed up in the crap. They are a trader to the cause, Iranians have more decency towards Pals then Arabs do for their brothers.

It is true what they say.....the Arabs will fight the Israelis to the last Palestinian.
