It's a sticky slope to tread on no matter what the actual problem is, when we start focusing on "men vs. women" - the second you try to generalize, spontaneously someone will have a counter-argument.

It should be, idealistically, per person. however, there are too many factors... and frankly, too many people to keep track of. At the DMV, your options for your driving record are: the last 3 months, or the last 3 years. Did you know, you're supposed to report your accident to the DMV? Odd, it seems -- i'd think they'd get a copy of your police report, considering your license's on the claim. Why does this occur though? Because that'd be too much paperwork to keep track of. Too many risks of letting someone see your information that it was not intended for.

In Italy it is per person, and it's based on the individual's traffic offense and health records. With the only exception of the Southerners, who pay - especially in cities like Naples or Palermo - higher prices than in the rest of the country, because of the higher rate of vehicle theft. Even if their record is immaculate.

More sexism... women who don't breast feed and let the men get up in the middle of the night to make the formula shouldn't be considered primary care givers but the courts don't really care who was the primary care giver.

You're basing laws on generalization, custody shouldn't have to be "fought". It should be joint unless there is abuse involved or one of the parents doesn't want custody, however lawyers couldn't make as much money if that was the case.

Also, this is tangential, and I'm not trying to change the topic of discussion here, but I always hear guys talking about the unfairness of custody rulings... Has anyone actually looked at the law? I have not, but I wonder if the law itself favors women (unjustly) or if it's just that the application of the law favors women for proper reasons. E.g. If it's mostly women who are the primary caregivers, then isn't it proper for them to have custody? I think most of these cases actually award joint custody so both parents have rights, but the children just live with the mothers primarily.

If the law agrees with me, then to the extent that on average mothers tend to be the primary caregiver, then children will on average be placed with the mother.

You are getting upset saying the law favors women, but you haven't even bothered to look at whether or not that is the case. Do most men even request that their children reside with them primarily? Notice the question is not do they want custody of their child... These are separate issues. I think you're looking at whether the child lives with mom most of the time or not and calling that "custody" in the wrong sense. I am simply pointing out some things you should consider before making up your rigid mind.

Most men can't afford to fight custody battles since they can range anywhere up to $50,000 so they have no choice in the matter. Try hiring a lawyer for the simplest offense, they'll charge you $1000 for breathing air in their office.

Try to find some actual numbers. You have your belief (and you seem to feel strongly about it); how about how this stuff is. why not actually search for evidence to see if it supports your belief?

How many guys you want lined up in front of you that got screwed by the system? I don't need numbers made up by fake "organizations".
