Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Questioning your morals/ethics

My brain is mush from too much studying and all this talk of politics is giving me a headache. So I am going to start my own thread and see if I have any takers....

Answer me this. After you all post your answers I shall enlighten you as to where this question came from.

What would you do? You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy, freezing cold, horrible night when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:

    1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
    2. An old friend who once saved your life.
    3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car and you have no chance whatsoever to go back and help someone else. You've got one ride to give. That's all.

      My answer:

      1) I’ll call an ambulance for the old lady, who is about to die, for all I know she could be a guy in drag, pretending to die so that he can rob me blind.

      2) Wave to my friend and tell her/him “I’ll call you later”

      3) Tell my perfect partner “Can I stir your coffee” (Recent line I heard what the f?) and then write my number with my lipstick on his hand, if he’s puuurfect for me he’ll call.

      4) Drive away in my car to continue enjoying the solitude and the thrill of driving on a wild, stormy, freezing cold, horrible night and think about how toasty it is in my car.

First of all, if I was driving on a stormy night, my attention would be focused on the road rather than the sidewalk. I like to look and see if hotties are strolling along. Anyway, had I even noticed them:

        1. The old lady is going to die, what good does it do to take her.

        2. My friend: "I will see you tomorrow"

        3. I would stop at the bus stop, take the partner, back seat, then drop her off at my house for a re-run. I would proceed to awake the next morning, take her to Dennys and pull the "I have to go to the bathroom" trick when the check comes. Meanwhile I am sprinting out the door and screeching from the driveway leaving her and the check out of sight and mind.

Is that ethical enough for you?

        But seriously:

I would pick up the partner because of this. I could help the old lady who wouldnt even wake up the next day, she wouldnt remember!

I could pick up my friend, and whatever, we are still friends.

I could pick up the hottie, find the love of my life, get married and have a life time of joy (or just on reserve for those unlucky weekends)

        Answer: Pick up the hottie

I would drive over all of them.

xxxx them, it was they who made me dwell on this question to begin with, so they gotta go.

                1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
                2. An old friend who once saved your life.
                3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

I thought about this one for a few minutes because it really questions your morals. after thinking about the situation, if it was really that BAD of a night, i would pull over, tell my friend to take my car and tell him to take the old lady with him. and that would leave me and my perfect partner, and i would make a nice night out of it with just me and her, getting to know everything about her, just me and her all alone on this stormy night. i would make her forget about the weather. i could have been a lot more detailed in my answer but you get the idea

I hate that "if it is meant to be" xxxx. What do you mean by that? Are you trying to say that it is up to some force, and not your own effort that two people be together? It was meant to be that you saw that person standing there, so why not act on that?

"Its meant to be" is an excuse for lack of responsibility, and for someone who is afraid of commitment for any reason.

I have gone off on people on random people I dont even know for saying this xxxx. I am not mad at you, just that stupid ass dumb xxxx saying that women have been saying after watching movies like "Sleepless in Seattle."
