In my family call the stuffed grape leaves sarma, and the stuffed bell peppers dolma. Sarma can be filled with rice or meat, but we never make the meat one. Sometimes my mom will put chopped pine nuts or almonds and chopped bits of dried apricots in with the rice, and we serve the sarma room temp.
For dolma any bell pepper will do, basically ground beef, chopped onions and other seasoning, my mother always kills it with mint leaves though, but thats about it
omg yeah that's manti. i just made this about a week ago and it took a really long time too, but it was worth the wait. We just cook the manti in the oven first and then let it sit in chicken broth over the stove and serve it in a bowl but not with a lot of liquid and you can choose to put yogurt on top if you want
Yalanci dolma rocks. And it also debunks this whole wrapped in grape leaves/stuffed pepper dichotomy. Yalanci is wrapped in grape leaves and is called dolma. Of course, its also called soot dolma.
Monte rocks, especially with yogurt with lots of garlic.
