    I think he meant wunderkind.

We're spoiling you with all these compliments, aren't we?

But I must say, I completely agree with you on the issue of repatriation.

corruption is bad. but the worst problem is privatization. These corrupt ministers sell of these companies that have actuall potential at 10% of their actuall value to irresponsible and incapable and pocket another 10% from the company, it is very simple. they dont give a xxxx about the country. these motherxxxxers who are parasites on the poor hardworking people should seriously be lined up and shot. no big companies want to do business in Armenia because of the possibility of war in the near future with azerbaijan. they dont want to put in all this money and investments in a country that could eventually collapse from war. i think kocharian is actually trying to rid the country of corruption but is not having an easy time. i think he is one of very few politicians who actually care about Armenia. I am hayastanci and i will tell you akhpars that when i came to new york and saw all these akhpars i really didnt like the way of talking and all that and for some reason didnt consider you guys armenian. but that was when i was 7-10 years old. i htink people in Armenia are smart enought to realize that we are all the same just different areas and different dialects and that after awhile if everyone moves back to armenia slowly so that the economy will be able to handle the increased number. But i think akhpars moving back in large numbers is not a problem because most of them come with capital like baron dants pointed out and if at least 60% of them open up their own businesses they will not be taking any jobs but will actually be decreasin the unemployment and bringing a huge boost to the economy. And i think that if a lot of akphars move back then they have a different mindset from the hayastantsis in terms of taking the corruption you guys have lived here all your lives and you dont take this bullxxxx while we have lived under the communist system and now its not as bad but the people are used to it and dont really fight back while you guys wont take that xxxx and might actually reduce the level of corruption. anyway, lets all go back to Armenia.

          Which is currently plaguing Armenians?
          you said it yourself!
          CURRENTLY...
so the first factor is automatically out of the picture... thank God no Genocides are happerning as we speak...
which brings me to the 2nd one: assimilation, which is referred to by our elders as "white Genocide"...
and as one of you has mentioned already... Armenian families like having kids... the Average Armenian family has 2 kids... so low birth rate is out of the question...
          so definitely #2.

In Armenia, however, the birthrate is very low. Around 1,5 child, if I'm not mistaken.

Indeed, Jahannam you're suggestion of 'assimilation' is relevant to describe the diaspora.

Armenia is not only suffering a negative birthrate, population implosion, but it is also suffering alot of emigration.

yeah 1.56 as oppoed to 1.51 in georgia and 2.34 in azerbaijan 1.99 in iran 4.52 in iraq 2.07 in the US 1.26 in italyand 2.03 in turkeyi am just giving these numbers as a basis for comparison. actually, basically that is the situation going on in all of europe(decrease of population) except azerbaijan and turkey.the only muslim countries. the general trend is the more educated people are the less children they tend to have. turkey and azerbaijan are the only nations in europe that will not have a decrease in population by 2050. I also think that a major part of the low birthrate is the bad economic situation and the fact that people are not able to support as many children. hopefully if everything goes well it will at least rise to at least 1.75in 10 to 15 years so that the population will be able to replace itself.

we're talking about Armenians in General...
and since there's more Armenians in the diaspora than Armenia...
not to mention the fact that more and more armenians are moving out of Armenia every year...
                  Assimilation it is, my friend!

i dont think its assimilation at all. we still keep our religion and most of us keep our language, no one forgets that they are Armenian, during the ottoman empire was when we were being assimilated into the turkish culture not now in all these other countries.

that's a nice story you told!
                      you're right... what assimilation?
Armenians in America or wherever today are exactly the same as the ones that walked through the deserts 88 years ago!

                      do me a favor...
if you don't know what we're talkin about... don't throw in an "opinion"...
                      no offense...
