Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • An Open Letter To God

    Dear Holy Father in Heaven,

Hi there. I'm Anonymouse. You know, I've tried to be a good guy for the most part. Sure, I may have sinned in my life a good deal, but I've never done so in a manner that would be harmful to others. What I'm trying to say is, those girls were all over 18, I didn't know those women were married, I swear I tripped and my penis fell into that Black Angus cow.

I tell you this because there's a special favor I have to ask for. I am saying this all to you because I want to be upfront when I ask, I don't want you to think that I'm trying to say that I'm some holy paragon of morality that you should grant special attention to. I'm just a regular, sinning fool who needs you to help out now more than ever, God.

Let me tell you what happened to lead to my request, first. Growing up, I've gone from the innocence of childhood, a time in my life when I believed that everyone told the truth, that the good guy always won in the end, and that Uncle Joe only offered me candy to touch me on my special parts because he cared about my health and was checking up on me, to the rebellion of my teenage years when I thought that I would go out and sin a lot and that I would rebel against you by having sex with a Black Angus cow. I mean, I tripped. Honest. Then, after I grew up a little more emotionally and intellectually, I realized that the world was maybe not as great as I thought it was when I was a child.

And then I clicked on a thread on another messageboard today.

    That link.

God, I need you to blow up the whole world. Please.

    Thanks much,
    Anonymouse
    Achkerov kute.

These war atrocities are very disturbing. I suppose all the death and violence that spawns from God is not healthy for the human mind.

                  VOLTRON!!!!!!!

Your link isn't working mouse dear. I must commend you for your ability to come up with that witty opening to this the topic of such a sick twisted movie. You've only read the review about the movie? I was wondering for a while what you were talking about, as the directionless link was of no help. But no matter, ebacuse it just dawned on me. The 120 Days of Sodom. The book, if it can be called that, that Marquis De Sade wrote while he was in prison. This movie is based on that book. That book was the most difficult thing I have ever read and gotten through. And I don;t mean big-words difficult. More than a few times I questioned why the hell I was reading it in the first place. Lets just day I was at that dark place in my life and get through it I did, and damn what a story it tells of human nature. I think the book and the movie speak volumes and are so hard to digest not because of whatever it is that is shown (the least awful being the torture, etc) but because everything you read about/see is never explained or like apologized for or made better. it's just what it is. You never see anyone apologizing for the awfulness. We have all seen movies with worse scenes of bloodshed and torture, but most of the time there is a reason for it, whatever is going on is explained, it's revenge, or war or whatever. In the case of De Sade's book and this movie, it is all for the 'fun' of it, the actions are not justified, they are literally for sick pleasure and they go 'unpunished' in a sense, which makes the whole damn thing all the harder for us to comprehend.

Like it says in the book...

"There is nothing either fundamentally good, nor anything fundamentally evil; everything is relative, relative to our point of view. This point once established, it is extremely possible that something, perfectly indifferent in itself, may be indeed distasteful in your eyes, but may be most delicious in mine; and immediately I find it pleasing, immediately I find it amusing, regardless of our inability to agree in assigning a character to it, should I not be a fool to deprive myself of it merely because you condemn it?"
--Marquis de Sade, The 120 Days of Sodom

De Sade, damn, there are so many levels of being 'sick' in this world.
The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F. Scott Fitzgerald
