Adam and Eve where happy living in their ignorant bliss, they lived with their basic animal instincts. However the forbidden tree was more of a knowledge that God gave an option of choosing, otherwise he wouldn’t have mentioned it in the first place. Thus it distinguishes us humans different from animals, we continuously strive towards something else towards enlightenment. Like Machiavelli said: “Ambition is so powerful a passion in the human breast, that however high we reach we are never satisfied.” And they choice to bite in to the apple of knowledge. Eden was no longer a place for knowledgeable people to exist in, since they wanted to question and explore, thus God saw that he has no choice but to create a world that would give humans a sense of purpose to exercise their new acquired knowledge. So he cast Adam and Eve out of Eden on a journey to find and explore the purpose they hold.

Completely my interpretation of the story, but nonetheless more logical and more romantic than the dry “We are all sinners” moral. Besides, who the hell wants to live in boring Eden with all those animals, playing Snow White and all her forest animals. Give me something to challenge, something to discover, something to achieve.
You know I have a problem with what is implied by the 'out of Africa' theory. Since evolution is not a proven fact, simply assumed, I cannot accept that we "descended" from this.

That is not to say I deny the oldest "man" is traced from Africa.

But you are on the right track that the story of "Eden" is more of an allegory of the forbidden knowledge that was kept from man, since the Bible version was merely a rewrite of the Sumerian version of 'Edin'. It also has one of the best examples of serpent symbolism, the serpent of the snake. The Persians referred to a region called "Heden"( Eden, Edin?), full of delight until the first men were tempted to take the fruit of the forbidden tree by an evil spirit in the form of a serpent. The Hindu "Jesus" Krishna sat upon a serpet under a banyan tree and then spread spiritual knowledge to humanity.

There is alot of hidden knowledge in antiquity and one can see how all these ancient cultures of antiquity were all somehow tied together ( perhaps Atlantis?). If not, then how does one explain the them of the "serpent'" or "serpent symbolism" in cultures throughout the world, such as the Sumerians, the Hebrews, the Persians, the Hindus, China, or the Mayans?

Something about the Bible, isn't all bunk.

I believe it’s a collection of myths and legends throughout the world and a collaboration of many religious beliefs, paganism as well. Just like each myth and story holds a moral, so does the Bible. But to “believe in the Bible” and obey the interpreted by the church word of God is defy the human reasoning and logic.

Life should not be lived according to the guidelines or rules, rather it should be lived through experience and through analytical thinking. It’s interesting many religious individuals go through life with their eyes closed and the Bible stamped on their forehead.

Evolution is a fact. The mechanism by which it occurs is explained by theories.

Oh no, not the evolutionists again.

Please start another thread and we will dissect the evolution myth as well.

Just like one shouldnt be arrogant to assume that the Bible holds mystic truth, it is also important not to succumb to evolutionary theory as having all the answers.

In fact, as a general rule, never succumb to any ideology or ism that claims to have answers to everything, that is how deception occurs.
