Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

How do you greet relatives?

come on you guys... a little kissing won't hurt you.
the vocab you guys have used is wayy too exaggerated.
saliva? what the...? lol
I don't mind kissing relatives. we're about 15 people, so it's not that bad. so I triple kiss my grands, uncles and aunts and I hug my little cousins.
triple kissing is cool. It's this middle eastern tradition that I'd like to keep. it's got a cool sound to it too that goes mouah mouah mouah.
and you don't really have to put your mouth on their cheeks. I personally just touch cheeks and make the sound. HA!
but friends or acquaintances, I say hi with a nod and a smile...
sometimes may be hug my girlfriends? ...
handshaking is for guys (and scouts )

Rabiz guys who just haveeeeeee to kiss eachother in public are nasty.
so gay, with their jewlery, and they make the loudest smooching sound.
So one day, I was coming home from school (high school), and the street is alwayssss hectic traffic.
So finally cars start moving, and these two rabiz guy, each in their own car, going opposite directions suddenly stop their cars, in the middle of the street, like it's their granny's. get out, and kiss eachother, while allllll the people are waiting in backof them.
now thats what I call stupidity, at its peak.

Originally posted by spiral Well, I have somewhat of an overpopulated 'barekamutyun'
six aunts and five uncles, and they have kids, and their kids have kids, who are my age, or even older sometimes.
soooooooo, when we have a gathering, there's an awfulllll lot of kissing.
I usually greet my aunts, even the annoying one with a handshake and a kiss (I hated doing that when I was small, but my dad would give me a 2 hour lecture on shnork, and respect for elders) so now I do it not so willingly.
As for their husbands...sometimes I kiss them, sometimes I don't, whatever.
now, my unlces,- my mom's side, isn't too touchy feely, so they're cool, and I see them everyday, so no kissing needed. dad's side is another story.
And New Years is the worst. Armenian new years, is just horrible, especially for girls.
You set the damn table, its allll about the table lol
then guests come.
one family, with their annoying kids, who tear the house apart. They come in you have to kiss them allll, and sit at the dinner table. Family leaves after 30 mins to an hour max, because they need to go to allll the houses in one day. So you clear the table, and quickly put clean plates on the table., you barely finish washing the dishes from the previous guests, then ding dong, more guests have arrived. Sometimes, they all arrive at around the same time frame, so you're totally screwed, kiss, kiss, kiss, happy new year, kiss, happy new year, kiss, thank you, u too. kiss, kisss
Shoot me.
Do you guys do the same?
Then it gets awkward too when we have like straight from Haleb relatives who do the three kiss thing jahannam said and I'm done with the two and we have this I'm turning around they're still kissing the air stuff going on.
......and then there are the armenian 'family friends' you grow up seeing during the holidays, then comes the year that you're old enough to be shy around guys and you're like do i kiss him? do i shake his hand? awkward......!The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F. Scott Fitzgerald

Why are you that sexually insecure anon that you are afraid of kissing another guy that you love as a friend on the cheek? i think that shows more homosexuality than knowing that you are straight and that there is no problem with kissing a great friend on the cheek when you see him.
