Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

This is really not true. There have been a number of HORRENDOUS interpretations of the Quran but the book itself is fairly logical and actually not that bad compared to some of the crap that's in the Bible.

Now of course I am NOT saying either book is any good. But you can't talk smack about the Quran and then claim the Bible is soooo much better. In a comparison, I actually think the Quran will come out as a lot more blievable than supernatural ghosts floating in the sky and dead people starting to walk around and flying and virgins giving birth
    this post = teh win.

          I am a 99.9% atheist, in a 35% atheist country.

Also I don't believe there is a heaven or hell, so kinda telling a atheist like me to go to hell doesn't work because I don't believe there is a hell.

No religion is right for me. I'm an atheist. Telling me I'm going to hell isn't the best way to lead into a request to be unbanned from the chat by the way. You weren't banned as far as I know, I will check with the other Admin. When were you banned?

As for hell, as Hip said... that's ineffective because I don't believe in heaven and hell. Besides, if I live a good life, I'm sure I'll be fine if I'm wrong. A good god should understand that there simply wasn't enough evidence for me to believe him him/her.
As Hitchens said, it would be more honest than simply saying I believe to cover my @ss.

If this makes you think Muhammed's existance was illogical, then why don't you think Jesus' existence, and all the supernatural phenomenon associated with him, is "logical"?

The simple answer is, you cling to your religious identity in that typical "everyone else is going to hell" manner. When you do this, you don't even understand what religion is, where yours came from and how it matches up with all the other religions and cults that have existed throughout the ages, how many of them, including Christianity, have ultimately appealed to the plebs, providing them with a pathos of devotion towards ones own God and their numerous demi-gods (saints, in the case of Christianity) based on essentially exoteric appreciations of their existence, designed for the sole purpose to keep the lowly individual's consciousness trapped and at distance with the divine, incapable of conquest or logic, for he is obsessed with hope that his ethics will get him into the promised land even though God has condemned him to live the lowly life of a mortal because of Adam's Original Sin, which I've heard is not interpreted by Islam to be so pessimistic towards mankind and its connection to divinity. In fact, it appears to me that it is Christianity and Judaism that are so fervently pessimistic and self-hating towards mankind, reducing us to animals which return to the earth when they die unless (this is in Christianity, I'm personally not aware of a discussion about man attaining heaven in Judaism) we follow a set of commandments, live with hope and fear and piety towards a God who reduced us to mortal dogs on Earth.

A man needs none of this hope and fear. At least Islam had the right idea here because they live with certitude about the will of Allah, a mission which a muslim lives and dies for. This is why Islam was able to carve for itself a spiritually united nation, where all muslims are part of the Umma and share the same divine purpose, of serving Allah's will on Earth as He had commanded in the Quran himself. This allows Muslims who engage in spiritual Jihad to attain the divine and gives them more than enough reason to live, conquer and dominate without having to resort to the mundanity of political considerations.

I am not a muslim and I never will be, but I will not talk out of my ass about their religion, the groundwork and seed behind an entire civilization that has up until the recent past been one notable for its virility in spirit and high culture. It has left mark its mark on the world, and if you wish to talk about times when a Christian civilization has left its mark on the world in a similar, virile way, look to Feudal times and nowhere else. A chapter of history that modern people, secularists all around, criticize for its "backwardness" and its "savagery" towards women and heretics and for its "primitive" conceptions of the world. In reality, it was a time when man did not step outside of the traditional role given to him, whether or not he was of high birth or low birth, and adhered to the sacred principles with respect to his nature and his alone, whether they were those of a serf who served to make the land fertile and plentiful as possible for their lord, those of a lord who participated in chivalric warfare out of honour for his kingdom, proving himself worthy to dominate and govern his fiefdom, and finally, that of a true despotic king who's ritualistic showing of arms protected the link of the entire civilization that ultimately manifests itself in him at the top of a sacred hierarchy, with the divine. He waged war and dominated the forces which threated to destroy the chivalric tradition that instilled order and true leadership of his race.

The most historically successful means of destroying such a hierarchy has always been via interior corruption (a notable and likely scenario being when the sacerdotal class competed with the king for power and succeeded, or even worse, when a bourgeois class managed to overthrow the king in ruling over the people, thus giving rise to the godless nation, motivated by secular laws and an obscurement from a sacred chivalric tradition, considering that wars become fought by the plebs serving as private soldiers/mercenaries who have no sense of honour, and fight for lies perpetrated by the purely materialistic whims of a social apparatus lead by a bourgeois class).

Feudal times, at their height, were truly the pinnacle of western civilization after the first Roman Empire, why? Because it was the king, the leader of a chivalric code of honour, who was both at the seat of power of his kingdom (or empire) AND of the religion of his people (that is, the power was not in the hands of the priests, cardinals, monks or popes, and rightly so). This was a time where the western man and the entire civilization he was part of, was actually linked with the divine, a time where he knew who he was and what he served because ideas like salvation, freedom and egalitarianism weren't democratized, because a man's faith in his religion was united in his faith and loyalty towards his leaders. The king too, who was the culmination of the entire order of his civilization, was seated at the pinnacle of the hierarchy. He also looked up through royal rites, always, towards the divine in order to serve its mission for the Earth.

Now, returning to Islam, if the prophet Mohammed is seen as a warlike and spiritually virile king who looks up to the divine (Allah) to fulfill His mission, together with a spiritually united Islamic race (if you will), does his place in Islamic religion start to make more sense to you? Do the supernatural phenomenon associated with Mohammed and his direct engagement in a divine mission start to make sense? I hope that given the context I have provided for you in my post, that perhaps you can understand what is going on in the mind of a muhajadeen in his participation in Jihad (an eternal fight to fulfill Allah's divine will on Earth, a mission that exists in other religions and cults centered around maintaining the supremacy of divinely inspired leadership by a warlike aristocratic class) and that perhaps, through finding respect for his spiritual orientation, perhaps you may be able to identify, within your own religious tradition, the same understanding necessary for a man in his quest to attain divinity, leading to the advancement and triumph of one's own civilization.

Have you read the Bible? It is pure evil...it treats women like dogs...and so much hatred towards non-Christians....really angry and hateful, childish god in the Bible...
                    Deuteronomy 13:6:
"If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. Stone him to death, because he tried to turn you away from the LORD your God."

                    Deuteronomy 17:
"17:2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die."

                    Leviticus 20:10:
"If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death."

                    Leviticus 20:13:
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives."

And a whole SLEW of never ending quotes in the Bible ordering the deaths of gays, women and nonbelievers can be found here:
                    http://www.evilbible.com/Murder.htm

That's a very peaceful, loving god you've got there, Almasd. Let's not forget the MILLIONS killed during the Crusades, using such quotes as justification. It blows my mind how blind religious people are to the fact that their own religion is really no different, or any more believable than the next one. ALL of them preach peace and love in SOME part of their respective scriptures, while asking you to kill the "nonbelievers" in OTHER parts. ALL of them are equally fallible and silly in their own way. The Koran is ridiculous because it's based on a lunatic who claims he can hear the voice of god. The Bible is ridiculous because it is based on stories stolen and/or plagiarized from previous religions, mythologies and folklore, some which predate the Bible by several thousand years. Oh, and let's not forget this very important broken promise:
"Take heed, behold I have told you all things. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light. And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven ...Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done."
(Mark 13:23-30. See also Matthew 24:34, and Luke 21:32)

So apparently, Jesus is about 2000 years late. It's OK. All the other sons of god made flesh (that Jesus stole his stories from) who promised to return have failed as well. Don't be too hard on him. To sit here and profess that your invisible, unprovable god is the "truth"/the only way, while someone elses invisible, unprovable god is fake is the definition of being an ignorant moron.

Hey Crimson... those stories aren't plagiarized from previous religions.... those are really things that happened in society which are no different than what happens now. The Torah, Old Testament, New Testament, Quran were written in their chronological time frames. Its just proof that the world goes through cycles and the same xxxx happens every 100 or so years. The only thing that changes are the laws... instead of being killed, now they just take your money away which is pretty much the same thing, LOL.
