Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Oh, man, you haven't even see it? I honestly thought you would have. I haven't read the novel, but have heard some good things about it. If I were you, I would definitely read the novel and watch the film.

Re: What are you doing with your life?

First off, good luck with whatever any of you are doing or plan on doing in the near or far future guys. I read some really interesting ambitions in this thread, especially in JGK's post .

As for me well for one I'm attending piano classes here in Yerevan. I study at the Sayat Nova conservatory and no I'm not a professional ... yet ... but I'm not a bad player. I play many other instruments as well but I'm learning piano seriously right now. My exams are in a month. Besides that, I'm learning some new programs that I bought recently, enhancing my portfolio and my experience. I'm a multimedia designer incase you guys don't know and I'm deep into designing, sound and animation. Actually I'd say I'm deep into almost everything related to computers.

Besides that, I'm working on some of my new movie scripts and am refining some of my older ones. After reading the end of my second paragraph, some of you might think I'm a computer geek . It's nothing like that. That's just one part of my life and of course my career. I've been on computers since I was like 3 so naturally it's a big part of my life but I go out a lot, travel, love nature, write whenever I can, act, compose play and listen to music A LOT (I have like 10,000+ mp3's, lol, I kid you not ^ ^ ), and do a lot of other things when I have time. It's kinda hard to really define what I do sometimes.

Anyways, coming back to what I've been doing. Well I'm finalizing some of my recent compositions. I'm planning on releasing my first album called The Hearts Lament's in a month or two. The recording and everything will be done in my dad's friends` studio so everything will end up being pretty professional. I won't be selling it though, lol, it's just my debut. Many people really liked my compositions so I decided to release an album. Plus, I've always wanted to hit the play button and hear my music from start to finish for once. Usually, I only play my music but just sitting down and listening to what you've composed is a completely different experience naturally.

My entire family is a musical family. My mom sings, my younger sister plays Qamancha, I play piano and a few other instruments (I've been singing and playing music since I was a kid), and my younger brother plays guitar. So music is my second major side. My mom will be releasing her new song called Adana actually very soon. Our family is close to Ara Gevorgian's family and recently he's been working on his new album called Adana. I'm sure many of you have heard the instrumental. Well it's the same music here except with lyrics which are based on the AG. Really famous singers from eleven different countries have sung the song in their own languages (including Turkey) and when Mr. Gevorgian found out my mom sang in Hindi, Bengali, Sanskrit, and Armenian, he got very excited with the idea of releasing Adana in Hindi. So that's what my mom will be doing. The songs already been translated and the recording session will take place probably after April 24th. This is really a big honor for the entire family.

In other news, I'm planning on finally enrolling into a proper theatrical institute here in Yerevan probably in September. I've had many opportunities to act in my life but didn't get a chance to seriously become an actor, script writer, and hopefully a director one day, which is one of my dreams. I write scripts, poetry, and stories and have directed one or two plays in the past (nothing big). I haven't had a chance to get serious because of all the travelling but now that my family has settled down here in Yerevan (it's been like three years already) I plan on polishing my talents and skills and finally getting serious.

Last but not least, I'm working on one of my biggest projects this year called CANDLES & ASHES which is a site that will serve various purposes. It will be available in English at first and then in Armenian and Turkish. After that we'll be working on releasing the Russian, German and French versions of CA. I don't want to go into details because it's really massive but just to give you an idea, CA will be something new and refreshing, that's for sure, and it will be the HQ of the Armenian Genocide and every other Genocide that has taken place in history. This is just one side of CA though. It will also present our country (and various other countries as well) like never before. Its third and most important side is that it will bring people together from all over the world, not just Armenians. That's the point of CA, to bring everyone and work together, face the past without fear, and create a place where what you say, believe and feel is more important then where your from, what your religion is, or what language you speak. People of all ages from various countries and cultures have already come together and are involved in this major project and we plan on releasing CA towards the end of May if we can. Our initial deadline was April 24th but we've gone through a few serious problems in the past two months so our deadline has changed. We've fallen back a bit. This is what's been keeping me really preoccupied lately as it's one of my primary objectives. You'll be able to find almost anything in CA and we're working hard to make sure everyone will feel at home. I'll leave it that. You'll be able to judge the site for yourselves very soon but so far, the site looks pretty slick, I won’t lie.

So that's what's been going on lately. Sorry for the long post although I guess you all have probably gotten used to them by now . Again, all the best with whatever you guys are planning on doing.

            Peace

^^ Well I'd kinda hate to disappoint you One-Way. I think I gave a short answer once or twice .

All the same, sorry for the long post.

And I'm 19, just incase someone doesn't know.

Re: What are you doing with your life?

I'm working for an Automation company dealing with robotics and virtual manufacturing. Been in the business for 10 yrs, and the outlook is bleak. Definitely don't want to do this for the rest of my life. With the auto industry taking a dump, I might have no choice but to work myself out and into another field, go back to school for a change in direction or become a pimp. The world is yours to discover.
