Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Some would say that's just a figure of speech, I would say it's a Freudian slip.

Maybe I need to talk to someone who has done drugs before, you've smoked weed, what was your reason behind it? I have never ever felt the pull to do something like that. God knows in college there were plenty PLENTY of people around me doing it, it would have been easier than anything to find any drug I could possibly think of, I just never found it enticing. My parents never sat me down and said 'Christine, drugs are bad blah blah blah.' so maybe I don't get how people can see how bad these things are for you and still keep doing it. Someone try to explain this to me.

As for the discipline thing, my mom was quite the disciplinarian in my family and I am all the better for it. All this psychology stuff makes sense but you have to realize that at a certain point in their lives children need to be taught the difference between right asnd wrong. No matter how intelligent some kids might be, there is an age at which REASONING is not something they grasp. Yes and No is pretty much the extent of it and if you do something that you're not supposed to then you get punished/disciplined for it. My mom was an advocate of throwing that dang pabooj around when I was being bad. I think mom slippers have some kind of kid sensors because those things somehow always got me in the ass. If I was running up the stairs or down it, she had some damn good aim. I'd love to be there when you try to sit your breath-holding bloody-murder screaming tantrum-throwing kid down and try to reason with him like he has the brain capacity and understanding of an adult. Hell nowadays you'd be lucky to find most adults with that kind of brain capacity and understanding, and just so you know, not everyone comes out as mature as our little baron happens to be at 17. Whernever I see all these 12 year old running around with more make-up than I've ever had on in my entire life and hanging out and messing around in public with guys old enough for it to be illegal probably I can't help but wonder where the hell the parents went wrong.....
I'm not a believer that you need physical punishment to instill in your kids a sense of 'right and wrong'. For one thing I am a believer in the fact that some kids have more of a sense of 'right and wrong' than others, and in that I go with the genetic argument. Call me crazy but kids for the most part are a product of their mothers. I like to believe that, otherwise ones "Jewishness" wouldn't be based on the mother. My mom always said to me, like an Armenian mom would, "Before you marry anyone look at their mothers". In any event, you go ahead and beat your kids, I'll even donate a broom to you as an effort to contribute to your disciplinary actions. I, on the other hand, will discipline them without physical violence.

I didn't say I was going to beat my kids. Keep your stupid broom. Disciplining your kids goes beyond hitting them to show then what's wrong. I should hope that they will understand when I teach them right from wrong, I'm just saying that sometimes kids don't so in order to keep the little kid, for example, from burning his fingers off on the stove you smack him on the butt maybe and he doesn't do it again. Jesus, you Do exaggerate, who said anything about giving kids a beating? Anyway good luck to you and your disciplined little wifey, whoever she may be.

I've learned that as much as you tell your kids or neaces and nephews that something is wrong or hit them even beat them they are still going to do what they want to do. Goes in one ear and out the other (my mom usto say that to me all them time). You can advise a child and be a friend, sister or brother to them tell them its wrong and why you believe it to be wrong, however you cannot tell them DON'T do this or else they will go do it because thats how kids are they are stubborn and hard headed, it is a very rare child that you may be able to say don't to and they won't. I have a nephew and i have cousines who have kids that Im close to from the ages of 10 months to 19 years. As much as i have tried telling them DON'T and STOP and BE this way or DO it that way, they will always choose the oppistite of what i say. So now I have gone to the point of saying ok if you want to do drugs or other things at least let me be there let me help and show you the right way, this way if i tell them only doing it once is enough just to get the expierence of taking a drug, or doing something differently or acting a certain way (so on and so forth) they will listen, why tell them DON'T if they are going to do it anyway, you would rather be there to help them in their choices. We were all children once we know how it is to be stubborn and do it our way. My parents never controlled me or punished me or even told me how to be or act, my dad has beat the living xxxx out of me for stupid stupid reasons but he is my dad and i love him regardless. True, i think if they had been a little less leanient and more abrasive i would have been a little less of a trouble maker and "xxxxxy" but i like who i am and i think i am who i am becaue of the way i was raised and i will raise my children to think for themselves to come to me with anything they want and i will help them with their choices i wont tell them what to choose.

You live your OWN life and you live it once, you have plenty of time to be dead!
