  • How do I as an Armenian make myself feel more European?

I mean, yeah. Armenians are European. But since most Armenians look like middle eastern people and eat middle eastern food, it's kind of difficult for me to just say "yeah, I'm European." Seems like such a simple question to me but almost impossible to give an answer to. So I need your help. Thanks.

Here's a solution: Get rid of your inferiority complex and just tell people you're Armenian.

People usually assume I am a white European. True. I am. But the rest of the Armenians that look middle eastern kind of ruin it for me. LOL

They ruin it? I think its your inferiority complex thats ruining things for you. Persians look 'middle eastern' but they are probably more Aryan than western Europeans.

Like I said, you need to get rid of your inferiority complex. You should also familiarize yourself with Armenian history. Armenians with inferiority complex make me more ashamed than Armenians who 'look middle eastern'.

I find it difficult and pointless (even self-destructive) to try identifying with Europe today, because all that represents is selling out my culture... and to gain what? Popularity among ignorant Europeans who couldn't give a xxxx about Armenia, or even their own traditional culture for that matter?

What is today's Europe? Seriously, what is the basis of being "European" today? Politically, it is a tool of London and Washington, culturally it's not a genuine entity unless you want to treat culture in the most base, materialistic sense. Why would I want to fit into something like this? People should feel ashamed too for buying into such a garbage example of an ideal continental culture that negates the very foundations that civilizations are built on. It is quintessentially the same thing as "American culture", maybe it's more chic, that's all.

Lets align ourselves with Western Europe next time we can actually profit from it as Armenians (like the Cilicians did during the Crusades), shall we? Have some standards and self respect is all I'm saying.

My motto has always been 'be yourself' because that is what you can be best at. No point in trying to act like this or like that because whatever attention you get or friends you make by acting like someone else it will all be fake.
