Whether you think it's fair or not that they get preferential treatment, a good sports team contributes more to a school than a bunch of nerds who get straight A's, millions of dollars. I hate the fact that an athlete might get the same grade as me by doing half the work, or no work at all, but I realize the athlete is more of an asset to the school than I am and that's all that matters.

yes it does.......but not every athlete is not intelligent.....and plus you cant just take any class and count them towards the mandatory 12 units that you're taking each semester. every single class within the 12 units has to be related to your major.,...what im saying is, you cant take 2 dance classes and a weight lifting class, so ull be done with 12 units...that's not how it works, you need real classes.
A lot of division I school athletes have a chance in becoming a pro within the first or second year of college, but after they start getting into their major courses, they're usually wanting to graduate and then become pro....I think that's awesome. and that will make our athletes worldwide, not only athletically talented, but also educated group of young ppl.....

great point there.....I kinda think that way as well.....its just sad that athletes are known as "dumb" ppl....that is sooo not true...probably it is for some big time football players.....and athletes dont only do half the work......they're just center of attention, because the teachers usually get to know them better, cuz they get to do grade checks and all that kindergarten stuff.....its pretty funny......would u want ppl to give u a paper and tell u to get a grade from the teacher and then sign it???? hahaha...that's just another pressure right there for us to study much more...

That justifies nothing (and you didn't have to explain to me about the mandatory classes, it's simple knowledge).

Well, I mean, if you have a major, then there's certain classes that you have to take.

Ok, if that's such a big surprise, then why the whole speech about "ooh any athlete contributes more to a school on any given day then the average nerd in a year"? How the hell does that make sense? You know what research is? Well, athletes don't conduct research, that's for sure. And, as I've said before, academics, and not athletics, are the primary goal of any school. And if it's not, well, then it's a dumb school, like it or not.

                    You a Trojan?
