Athletic ability isn't determined by where you live or what political system you adhere to. It is strictly a biological capability of the individual. I still don't see what you're getting at.

well yeah most of it is luck....a lot of colleges say we're lucky to have this or that athlete on our roster.....ru trying to say that they should eliminate college athletics cuz they're not really representing their college but their athletic ability?

Yes, I agree that college is an experience, not just an education. As I said in another thread, I lived on campus my freshman year and saw the more exciting aspects of college life. However, whether you like it or not, the primary goal of a college experience shouldn't be to party (as it is for some idiots), but to get a better education, in order to succeed in life. I don't have anything against athletics, believe me, I love sports. However, it pisses me off when I see how much better athletes are treated than regular students, whether it's professors going easier on them, or them getting extra money that the rest of us have to work for. Athletes do not work twice as hard as regular students, since they get so many breaks. You want to talk about stress? Try to put yourself on the journey to medical school. Now believe me, THAT'S stress.

He's just asserting individualism. The athletic capabilities of a person depend only on that person, and are of a biological nature, not which school you go to. If you haven't noticed, blacks are way better athletes than any other race I know. It's purely biological.

yeah.....I agree....but college sports, or olympics , gives u the feeling of being part of a team.....basically it's a group of college students who want to improve their competing abilities, through college athletics. and they would like to represent their ability through the college that they want to attend....

its kind of annoying when a athelete gets a full ride to some top evy leage school for playing good......when others work there asses off, get great grades, but still cant go to that school because of money problems. Its not fair :< No matter how much you succeed academically, its very hard to get a full ride based on your scores etc. Its harder for kids who try to get into a school educationally wise compared to some kid who practices a lot of football(for example) and gets into a school with a gpa of 1.0 lol

when it comes down to it, most schools arent recognized for there academical success, but rather its ability in sports, what a sad world.

why do we need to fill a top ranking school with a bunch of idiots (low gpa, high atheletic ability)rather then kids who are hard working to get a good school's name on there resume to get a good job , career etc

lets face it, when you play sports, its not going to matter what school you went to later, if its not college sports that you want to get into, more of a professional level. etc etc

i know a guy who got a full ride to berkely on a rugby scholarship, he is a horrible student, plays good......

its not fair filling up a spot in such an awesome school for a kid who stinks at learning and comprehending the material, verses a kid who works hard and missed getting in by a slim chance because some other kid who is a poor learner gets in easily because they play good, into a school which is known for its great education.

I know a kid who was really a dumbass, I mean a genuine hardcore pure USDA approved dumbass. He got into Cal State L.A. and he has been there ever since. End of story.
