Armenia in "Total War: Rome II"

Armenia is going to be included in a new video game called Total War: Rome II. Our country was also featured in Rome I as a non-playable faction (although you were able to use it in multiplayer battles). This time, it is non-playable at release but there are strong chances it'll be released later on as DLC. The game starts at around 270 B.C., when the Armenians hold the province of Armenia, which is separated into three regions. The capital city is Armavir, and there are two minor cities Arsamosata and Tushpa.

Been looking into some of the new mmo/rpg/pvp games that are coming out and was wondering if anyone here is into these types of games.

You only will be able to play as Armenia through DLC or changing the files (again). However you can buy Crusader Kings 2, and play as Armenia from the go. Or get RTW download Eb and go and conquer the know world as Hayasdan!
Not that excited about R2 to be honest.

Well what ever as old i will get Rome was a good game and a nice surprise to have Armenia recognized in its own era . I wish Movies about Cilicia and Ancient Armenia will be created in the near future ... from news i have read they say that the average budget of a movie for 2011 was 60.000 $ .... damn with a million we could make good looking movies about our history .... just if only we have hollywood's style infestracture in yerevan .... a man can dream ...

Good idea, I should give CK2 a try as well, but from what I understand you can't control your troops on the battlefield like in Total War...

By the way Rome 2 was released yesterday and feedback has been quite mixed - a lot of fans complain about battlefield AI, graphical performance, load times between turns as well as other bugs. Apparently there will be weekly updates that'll fix things up.

Ambitious megaprojects

The rapid development of game industry inevitably results in “churning
out” of numerous products. The output of sequels and prequels of
popular computer games doesn’t improve their quality. Despite this
fact, there are a number of developers striving to produce something
worthwhile. In general, these are independent teams, who develop a
product from the ground up and deliver a masterpiece after a long
period of time.

PanARMENIAN.Net - One of such teams has been working in Armenia on an
ambitious megaproject titled Imaginary Guardians for already three
years.

In an interview with PanARMENIAN.Net project head David Ashotyan tells
what is Imaginary Guardians and when the game will be completed.

Market competition is a perfect opportunity for independent developers
to make a name, especially if the project is self-sufficient. For
example, one of the major companies in the field, Sony Publishing,
keeps an eye on such firms, promoting their projects with their
platform Play Station 4. Imaginary Guardians is meant for this kind of
cooperation.

“We are serious about this project. A team of professionals has
created a general concept, music and unique design. We are currently
working on game design documentation, which will be presented to Sony
Publishing and other giants in four months. Simultaneously, animators
are developing the gameplay demo. To create the characters, the team
collaborated with sculptors in order to make 3D model development
easier,” Ashotyan said.

Imaginary Guardians is a mix of game genres. First, it’s hack and
slash, a term that refers to a type of gameplay emphasizing combat. At
the same time, there are elements of puzzle and Tower Defense (a type
of strategy video game where the goal is to defend a player's
territories or possessions by obstructing enemy attackers, usually
achieved by placing defensive structures on or along their path of
attack.)

Imaginary Guardians has six game characters, who can overcome the
obstacles only in case of coordinated team work. Each player chooses a
character while the plot is being discovered in the course of playing.
For better effect, we have created animated embeddings, so that it
will be possible just to watch the game as well,” Ashotyan said.

An illustrated book telling about the history of the Imaginary
Guardians galaxy to be published in 2017 will take you to a
breathtaking adventure of seven brave friends, who strive against the
evil, grim spirits -Darklings. This adventure/drama will reveal how
important and powerful friendship and teamwork can be. With its story
twists and dramatic moments every page will drive you into unusual
mood. More than 100 illustrations will guide you through the magical
wilderness, where heroes overcome troublesome obstacles.

According to Ashotyan, the Armenian game industry can be competitive
at the international market, however, patience and quality products
are needed for success.

I know this obscure game called, knights of honor where you can play as Armenian Cilica and has a total war style gameplay mechanics.
