What if I find someone else when looking for you? My soul shivers as the idea invades my mind.

why is it that most (almost all) Armenian last names end with a
      -yan or -ian?

another question: my last name ends with -ts, well it ends with -iants, but how come mine ends with -ts rather then just -ian, does anybody know any history behind it?

and don't say that my last name is the only last name that ends with -ts, b/c one of my very close friends (who is Armenian) last name also ends with -ts and i've heard and read of several other Armenians whose last name ends with -ts or -tz

      please solve the mystery
-ian : son of...so for example bedrossian...is the son of bedross...get ir?

I was told that it means "grand son of", and the first name/root is taken from the paternal grand father. Noone else has heard this?? A lady told me that because thats what her family actually did for generations. I can't imagine it was her family alone that did this. There had to be a reason.

My father's family are Hayastantsi and their last name ends with the typical "yan", but my mother's ends with "ova" - Russified. Its no surprise that our names have different endings with all the different nations we have been influenced by...

I agree, its the root that counts more. Both of my parents families start with a male Armenian first name (Arakel and Nerses), although they have different endings.

My last name is Roemer, and so far the only people I know who can pronounce it correctly is armenians. There are two dots that are on top of the "o" makeing it to be pronounced harshly. And seeing how Armenians have the ability to make that gargaling noise in the back of their throats when speaking certain words like axchi for example.

That's a great idea and it's extremely kind of you!
Unfortunately, in my building, there's a strict selection process and the board requires it!
Would you please post a sample of your work? Thanks!

If you bring the board over to New York, sure. No problem.

The board members said that they may consider going to Manhattan; but never - they asked me to emphasize on "never" - to Queens!

Please be careful, you may ruin the paintings with your tears! *how considerate!*
