since d and e are not an option then f should defiently be an option
I grew up with a mother who is very superstitious. Just about anything I did could have a bad affect on my future, but no matter what I did she would always say just lightly spit on it and it'll all go away
Your salivary glands must be quite evolved.
I've never heard of that before...veeery interesting. Why is your mother so superstitious? Is there any validity in any of her superstitions (i.e. has any of what she believes in, ever come true)? Or has the spitting taken care of everything ?
So we definitely do get those supersticious qualities from our family. I have to say though, I am guilty of that "nock on the wood three times" thing.
I was born on Friday the 13th
Oh kewl. I was born on Thanksgiving, but that just goes off topic.
people go to him when they can't stop coughing, or if they feel something is stuck in their throat. He supposedly does something and a seed, or the thing that's stuck in your throat flies out.

come to think of it I don't think any of her long list of superstitions have ever come true..and trust me it's a longggggg list..i barely can keep track of them
It's weird though, my mom told me all these superstitions when I was little, so I was always afraid of the outcomes and the possibilty that it might come true, and now that I'm older I realize that it's all a bunch of BS yet I constantly catch my self warning my little brother of the same superstitions my mom warned me. I think its because even though I know its not true I would still rather follow the "rules" rather than taking the risk.

Well, then what the hell do you give as an answer if what you would do is not one of the options listed. As sad as it may be, that is really what I would do. I'm not much of a kid, and I'm not witty.

OK, I'll spell it out for you - option c) is reserved for people who are not superstitious. Don't complicate matters.
My aunt also reads coffee cups for fun, and I mess around with her and ask her to do it in color. LOL. and sometimes I would pick up a cup and say hummm I see a lot of Coffee.
and I went to several psychics.
one said that I wouldn't live to see 23, but here I am.
countless others refuse to tell me my fortune, saying that I have an evil presense BOOOOO LOLLLLLLL
PASA and I have something in common about Superstitions...
Me too! i dont believe in Superstitions...
SUPERSTITIONS are found all over the world. They are sometimes esteemed as part of a cultural heritage. Or they may be considered a trivial curiosity—adding spice to life. In the Western world, superstitions are usually taken with the proverbial grain of salt. Elsewhere—in Africa, for example—superstitions can seriously affect people's life.
Much of African culture is based on superstition. Movies, radio shows, and literature produced in Africa often highlight superstition and mystical subjects, such as magic, ancestor worship, and fetishes. Why are people so influenced by superstitions, and where do superstitions come from?
Many superstitions basically stem from a fear of spirits of the dead or of spirits of any sort. Events are interpreted as attempts by these spirits to contact the living with a threat, a warning, or a blessing.
Some Common Superstitions Around the World
a)Standing chopsticks in a bowl of rice is a sign of death
b)Seeing an owl in the sunlight brings bad luck
c)A candle going out during a ceremony means that evil spirits are nearby
d)Dropping an umbrella on the floor means that there will be a murder in the house
e)Putting a hat on the bed brings bad luck
f)The sound of bells drives away demons
e)Blowing out all the candles on a birthday cake on the first try grants a wish
g)A broom against a bed allows evil spirits in the broom to cast a spell on the bed
h)A black cat crossing your path means bad luck
I)Dropping a fork means that a man is coming to visit
J)A picture of elephants brings good luck if it faces a door
k)A horseshoe over the doorway brings good luck
L)Ivy growing on the house gives protection against evil
M)It is bad luck to walk under a ladder
N)Breaking a mirror means seven years of bad luck
O)Spilling pepper means that you will have an argument with your best friend
P)Spilling salt brings bad luck unless a pinch is thrown over the left shoulder
Q)Leaving a rocking chair rocking while empty invites demons to sit in it
R)Leaving shoes upside down brings bad luck
S)When someone dies, windows must be opened to let the soul out
Superstitions vary immensely throughout the world, and their propagation depends on local folklore, legends, and circumstances. But the common denominator is the belief that someone, or something, from the invisible spirit world needs to be appeased.

Hey Lose don't you mean:
e) I finish watching whichever girl has come over to prepare my meal prepare it and then sit down with the sports page and eat. If the girl hasn't already cleaned it, when my mom comes home, she cleans it up.
?
Back to the topic at hand....
Why do the choices have to be so extreme? I'd pick none of the three. I'd clean up the glass and say bugger and hope that I don't have bad luck, which in my case would probably be me stepping on a piece of glass I missed. I drop and break things a lot and seem to be doing ok so far, all of my family members intact, so I guess I don't believe this stuff. Except I do knock on wood and throw salt over my shoulder if I spill some and silly things like that. Not because I believe something bad will actually happen, just out of habit or something. just like reading the horoscope. I don't subscribe to it, nor do I live my life around it, but sometimes it's fun to read it and see how much you can pretend things that are happening to you sound like what the horoscope has predicted.
