Well I was talking about women's reaction to such a bill. I meant to say that so many women b*tch and whine about equal rights and insist that women are equal to men on all grounds (even physical), yet when the time comes and things don't look good for them, they say, oh, see, we're different, we have all sorts of stuff happening to us already, like pregnancy, yada yada yada. That's hypocrisy. I'm talking about that. That wasn't necessarily aimed at you though.

In a country like Armenia, there is no other choice than to have the draft (for now at least), as the risk of war is still very present. But in the States, where the army is used to conquer more than to defend, I find it useless.

I disagree. I think it serves to harden up the population and allows people that are benefiting from the state to contribute to it also. I believe that in some ways it will do away with the ignorance of the average American and allow them not only to understand what is going on in the world but also what the US's role is and what it takes to hold on to the amount of power the US has worldwide right now. I mean I myself completely disagree with the war in Iraq, but i believe that if i was an American i would be crazy not to support the war. It is very clearly in the interests of the US, and people who do not understand why Bush attacked Iraq must be blind

The draft might, but the argument of who gets to serve in it is irrelevant. Obviously, if there is going to be a draft, both men and women should serve.

This wasn't about the draft, this was about the draft in light of the War on Terrorism, especially in Iraq, in light of the American empire spread thinly across the globe and battling "terrorists" on a world scale and different theatres.

Michael Imperioli, let's not get ahead of ourselves. First you state you disagree with the war on Iraq, then you say people who don't understand why Bush attacked my be blind, you just made yourself be put in that label. Let's get one thing straight, this war is not in U.S. interest, it is for Israel's interest, and it is having a negative effect on America politically, militarily, and economically. Therefore, those who cannot see the obvious stupidity of attacking Iraq in the name of Israel are blind.
