...how are they going to create a true continuity of consciousness? What happens when two identical beings coexist? How do they avoid the pain and horror of repeated physical death in their little immortality scenario?Even assuming they can precisely duplicate a human being physically, what about his spiritual aspect? Will he-it have a soul? This is humanism at its most obscene. We are just masses of tissue to be manipulated and reformulated at will ? our will.

A clone would not be a carbon copy. A clone would have the same genome only, just like an identical twin. It would still be a unique person with unique experiences and a unique consciousness.

There will be no repeated deaths. Each being will have its own separate death. There will be no continuity of consciousness. If you believe that human's are really spiritual beings incarnated into a physical body, then I don't see why the incarnation would be any different just because the body's genome is not unique.

You haven't objections, sleuth, you've just made an idiot of yourself. If you insist on continuing, go ahead, but nothing you say will ever be taken seriously, either by me, by the scientific community, or by anybody in a position to make an actual decision on this matter. I'd laugh if this kind of attitude didn't honestly make me sad.

Loser, before you start name calling others, perhaps you should read the article I posted between Egoism and Individualism and how that ties into cloning. Apparently you fall in the realm of Ego, and they tend to support cloning for reasons that will be explained when you read it.
