Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

When did I ever say completely get rid of ethnic diversity? I said it shouldn't be a consideration. The person you choose to spend your life with should be chosen based on a holistic consideration that takes all of the unique attributes of an individual into account. Ethnicity can add or detract if you have strong opinions about it, but it shouldn't be a determining factor.
Why would I become a racist, Baron? Honestly, a person's race is the last thing I think about when I think of a person. It really makes no difference to me and it's silly to me that it makes a difference to anyone. I guess I'm just a little more concerned with advancing the cause of the human species, rather than any one particular subgroup. Like I said, I don't like the idea of grouping people at all, especially based on factors that have nothing to do with their own personal choice.

That said, you are a free individual human being with the right to liberty and with the right to make any decision you feel fit to make that does not harm another individual. If you want to preserve your culture and be gung ho about ethnic unity and linguistic purity, then by all means, do so. I just don't like it when you come in here telling everyone else here that they should be thinking the same way as you. They are their own people and they are free to lean any which way they choose.

And about the racist comment, my point was that, all those people who advocate for this whole "creation of one people with no ethnic boundaries" and so on, usually use "there will be no racism" as their main argument. I have always found it ironic how the creation of one (probably) english-speaking people with an American culture can not be considered as racism, when it implies the wiping out of hundreds of others of cultures.
I am not a racist. Anyone who knows me know that. I am actually bothered by racists as we have all seen its results. However, I do feel that on this little blue planet, we Armenians also have our place among all those other people. And the fact that we protected our identity and culture is by no means a sign of blocking out everything else.

I said the only logical way. I didn't say you weren't free to think otherwise. I respect your view and you are free to hold it. Other Armenians are free to hold views that don't agree with yours. If they aren't as concerned with maintaining the culture, then they aren't. It doesn't make them bad people and it doesn't even make them bad Armenians.
Again, I don't advocate the creation of one people. I only said that if all people were interracial, then racism would likely die as it would be a little silly at that point. Still, I'm sure people would find other reasons to hate and scapegoat each other. Multiracial doesn't imply "one" people. Each person is an individual and is a product of his unique genetic code and unique upbringing. There will never be "one" people. There will simply be a little blurring of the traditional lines and perhaps, just perhaps, a little less regional unity and a little more global unity. We are destroying this planet, and that should be our major concern.

This is my last reply for the night and with that I would have to say "Bravo" to you Lose! I wholeheartedly agree with you and admire the eloquence with which you expressed your profound views. Many of us belonging to a particular nationality are blinded by nationalism to look outside of the prescribed by our culture parameters. I for one have always prided myself on being Armenian and always will, however it's a result of that sense of belonging and a longing to relate. Now I see it from a different view, no I can't say that I will support someone just because they are Armenian, but simply because they are a decent individual. It takes the strain off the tremendous disappointment if something goes wrong in the Armenian community and the holistic expectations from our people just because they are Armenian. Preservation of the culture is a matter of time and "fate", some fail, some survive. Preservation of your morals and values is an individual effort.
Baron, Nationalism and Patriotism ARE the same everywhere. You are wrong Chinese are very nationalistic, which is one of the reasons why they firmly preserved their traditions and culture for so long, yet they are fixated on segregation. I'll elaborate further tomorrow. Bari Gisher.

Clearly you are the product of the current State of affairs, not realizing the agenda behind the current thrust of immigration policies that are more and more eroding cultural and racial distinctions. This isn't about establishing a human family together in harmony and respect for each other, for such a belief is illusory and fallacious. It is about an ever increasing power of States to mince peoples and rule peoples more easily than before into a fascist type slave society in which thinking is no more diverse than the mindless monoculture that spawns it.
Your idea is historically and culturally blind and deprived, I disagree.Achkerov kute.

Quit being an alarmist. I didn't say one culture, and I even told Baron Dants that I never said one culture or one race. I said people of different races freely intermingling and interbreeding. So no, you don't have it clear.
I will no longer respond to these idiotic mischaracterizations of what I say.
