In low limit if you get QQ in late position and everyones already called then there is no need to raise because it's very rare to have those limpers fold after they have money in the pot, The reason for a raise preflop isn't to spice up the pot, it is to get people out so there are less people in the pot, thus creating less chances of someone sucking out on you or catching some rags for a two pair or a straight. what's another dollar for them. Now if you were in early position with QQ you should definitely raise. Don't throw that raise in with QQ in late position next time so when the flop comes an ace or a king and you get raised you can fold and have saved more money. Once again this is why I play no limit. If I have QQ and the blinds are at lets say 15-30 and you are in late position like you said you need to raise unlike low limit. You raise it to about 100 and now all those limpers that called before you will rarely call your 100 or 125 raise. Now suppose one person calls, now we either put him on AK or AQs if he is a tight player for example or AQ or AJ if he is a little more loose (also an important part of the game, knowing your players and their playing style). Also you have to consider your one or maybe two callers to have a pocket pair for example 99. Now if the flop comes A K 4 like you said then most likely you are in trouble because your opponent has already called your 100 or 125 raise. BUT nonetheless you need to put a big size bet out there on the flop about the equivalent of the pot (about 200-250), now 90% of the time they will fold putting you on those high cards with probably a better kicker. Now if they raise you back then it is time to fold and not be stubborn, live to see another day. But always remember you need to play tight but aggressive, as in play tight with your hand selection, only the best hands and when you do play them and are involved in a pot you need to be aggressive with it and your opponents will fold 90% of the time.

      Aaaaaaaaaah. Good stuff.
The guys I play a home game with now play for fun more than money and then play like this: Everyone will buy in like $10-20 and they'll play no limit with blinds 50/25 cents. Quite often they'll just cash out when they want to go and go... so even if you win you're only winning like $20 or so. Occassionally they'll play tourney style so there's no cashing out and in those cases it's winner takes all ($60-$120).

They don't f*cking fold. How would you play against those guys? If your blinds are 50 cents and you bet $5 that's about right for a big bet, proportionally speaking, but it's only $5 and they call. For example, I recall once we were playing I had like Q8 or something and I was second to last to act. Everyone just called, so I called too. Flop came Q 8 6 or something. So I had top two pair. Everyone only called min bet and I bet $3 or so. The guy after me calls, everyone else folded. Turn doesn't help anyone it was like a 2 or 3, I bet $3 again time, he calls. River is A. I didn't think he had an ace, so I bet $5 representing half assedly an ace maybe. He calls. Turns out he had A6. He should have folded. What did I do wrong? Should I have put him all in? Everyone only had $10 each and it was the first hand, so I thought my bets were big enough. He wasn't raising so I didn't put him on any large pocket pairs.

        I did it again

It says I came in 4th out of 200 people and i got 2200 but since it doesn't say we chopped it when it got down to 4 people left it doesn't display the right prize amount. I basically came in top 4, if we didn't chop it then I could have come in anywhere from 4th to 1st. Anyway, I made 6,160 dollars last night which isn't a bad pay day. Just thought I'd share my good news and show off a little more

"I was playing the other day and a girl who is simply so full of herself just because she wins regularly I can't stand her. We had a new player in the game who was sitting beside her and trying to flirt a bit with her - nothing out of line, just friendly and maybe just a bit naive. The girl finally decides to let her true nature shine and looks at him in disgust and says,

"Why don't you just give it up. If you men were worth anything, us women wouldn't have to fake orgasms during sex."

the guy never said a word about sex or anything like it - he was being tasteful the whole way and was embarressed. I just looked at her and shook my head at the little drama queen and of course she piped up again,

          "What?! It's true."

          I replied,

"Yeah and you say it like it's something to be proud of. So what, a woman fakes an orgasm during sex and you think it's a big deal. I know men who can fake an entire relationship just to get sex. You're an amateur."

Damn that felt good, the whole table was in complete laughter."

Yeah, I'd say she had that coming. She was out of line.

Congrats on previous win too by the way.

Sigggggie , theres a lot of low buy in tournaments at Bicycle if you're interested this next week. Come play one or two tournaments, see how you do. By low , I mean 100 + 20 , so I don't know if you're willing.

Eeek. Not yet. I have some more reading to do. When I read Skalansky's Tournament maybe. Thanks for thinking of me though. My brother could/would play, but he's only 18. Darn.
