Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Especially at a time like this, with the constant threat of another terroist attack, with the struggle of keeping Iraq in shape, and trying to find Bin Ladin (if he is even still out there) we need to think of ourselves as Americans rather than as Armenians, Asians, Hispanics, African-Americans, whites, etc. Cause right now the main issue is the future of this great nation. As much as some of you have sh*t to say about the US, its the one nation that opened its arms to you, or your parents, or your grandparents when everyone else turned their backs. While some people wait around and try to figure out which pres is going to support the Armenian people, I'm going to base my voting decision on which pres offers the best improvement of the economy, opening more jobs in the states, better and cheaper education, and defiently cheaper health care!Achkerov kute.

Inna - with all due respect, your political views are a bit too naive.. The entire "terrorist threat" issue is nothing but manipulation and fear mongering.. this makes things easier for them, as they can pass laws that further limit freedom of speech and violate the privacy of individuals [such as the Patriot Act] without much objection (of course, philosophically speaking, since privacy is a government-given privilege rather than a natural right, it wouldn't be wrong to take it away, per se - but when violation of privacy results in random arrests and violation of the right to freedom, that's when there is a problem)..

Originally posted by HyeJinx1984For a long time I was wondering if a majority of Armenians are Republican or Democratic. At first you'd think democrat because usually democrats cater to the needs of minorities, but I've notices that a very good portion of Armenians (that I know anyway) are Republicans. Thoughts?
Also, a lot of the Armenians I know are putting down Kerry and rooting for Bush. Well.. read this ANCA Endorses John Kerry for President
I was shocked when I read this stuff myself, so I'm not too hard on Armenians who wanted to vote for the cowboy before... but honestly, any Armenian who reads this and is still pro-bush absolutely sickens me... and I hope that doesn't include any of you.
I am a strong supporter of having the genocide recognized, but I pose a question to you, who cares if America recognizes the genocide? The country that has to do that is Turkey. So why are you mad at America, maybe you should direct your anger/political discontent towards those who committed the genocide and those who continue to live in a world of denial. ANCA Reps have even mentioned that Pres. Bush has been among the most progressive in speaking of the genocide, recognizing them as atrocities, although, like all Presidents before him, failed to use the word "genocide." Every President since that fateful time has sent mailers to Armenians, promising to recognize those tragic and horrific events, including your favorite liar, Bill Clinton. It sickens me to see that some people are trying to turn this country into an ATM machine or political device for the country of their ancestory. Armenians especially blame other people of other ethnic groups for being selfish and having control of this country. Whether you believe that is true or not, is not the issue, but why would you want Armenian Americans to become an interest group?
I did not read the article yet, but I will when I get to a computer that is faster with loading.

Originally posted by AnonymouseThere is nothing wrong with opening arms, there is something wrong with being a warmongering empire. That is no excuse to support it. I love your innocent worldview on this, but this "terrorist thread" was created and fueled by this great nation, which it might appear after a careful review of the facts, isn't so great abroad.
This nation is, in fact, doing what nations are supposed to do. Nations and States and/or nation-states are founded for the primary reason of defense. I find it hard to believe your portrayal as the U.S. being the only offensive country in the entire world. That notion is simply ridiculous. If you decide to maintain that wild irrational thought then I say to you, that you are absolutely wrong. But I encourage you to keep that thought and think that offense is also a good defense.

Originally posted by DarorinagAny Armenian who justifies his voting for Kerry as being the result of Bush's bad record, is an idiot, and deserves to be called that. Neither of us argued IN FAVOUR of voting for Bush... so what is your point??? Bush WAS pro-Armenian before the election. Read this, also from ANCA. So what makes you sure that Kerry wouldn't do the same thing? How can you endorse Kerry, not knowing his REAL stance on the Armenian issue? What Armenians fail to understand is that American politics is
not about *a* man, it's about a drawn plan and certain policies.Last edited by dusken; 08-02-2004, 10:54 AM.
