Yes, I'm sure he wasn't murdered because of his film which Islamic fundamentalists have said 'insults' the Islamic faith, rather than brings to light the mistreatment of women that Islam (or, rather, the way they interpret it) almost advocates.

And the sad thing is that, the movie was probably the absolute truth! It’s really hard for real traditional Muslim women, the religion gives no value to them whatsoever. It’s all about men. Pathetic, but true. I hate the religion, not the people, but the religion sickens me!

im sure that the filmdirector-with dual dutch morrocan thought that he would be safer or that it would make it easier for him than others making a movie about muslim fundamentalism. no way that they would want to kill someone of their own kind.
actually my own mother has gotten threatened by some religious muslims at a time when she was involved in an iranian organization helping women who got threatened in iran. but she left the organization eventually as swedes like to kiss muslim asses to much.
