P.S. I can almost smell the amount of storm of replies I'm gonna get. fact of the matter is, you christmas "lovers" have been SOLD to believe in the so called "christmas spirit", I'm just being me in my good old real world.

So what? What's so wrong with being sold good spirit? I haven't bought a gift for anybody in years, nor do I buy a tree, but I can still enjoy the relative cold and the decorations everywhere and the carols and television programming and all. It's just a great time of year, whether you spend any money or not.

what is christmas nowadays? does anyone REALLY care about its historic events?
if not for the mall, the way corporations MAKE you spend money and the way society pressures you to show what you've got...(gifts, how you look, how big is your tree, what company decorated your front lawn+facade)
I mean what part of "Santa clause" has anything to do with Christ's birth.
they call it "christmas".
and it's not only Christmas. governments gotta somehow have the economy moving: In January it's "after christmas sales", in Feb it's Valentine's day, in March it's Easter, and mother's day and father's day and 4th of July and halloween...and on and on and on...just think about the common denominator in all these "holidays"... money!

Hey look people, it's the Grinch!

I don't know about you guys, but my gaghant has nothing to do with the birth of Christ. The "materialistic" celebration (gifts, Santa Claus, party, alcohol) are on New Year's, and are therefore not religious. On Sourp Dznoont, it's just church and family dinner.

I love shopping for presents... but I think the best present is a gift card. I mean what could be better than $$. Usually I don't have a problem getting something for everyone... but this year, I don't know what to get for my supervisor. Any ideas?? Someone??? Anyone??? No one???

I don't like the gift card/money idea. For a supervisor, yeah, its fine. But for a family member or loved one, it just says "hey you know, I didnt care enough or didnt want to take the time to actually pick something out, so here's the money, you go buy something". Plus it doesnt look good for people to open a little envelope with a card under a big christmas tree

For the present, is the supervisor male/female? hobbies? collector?

For coworkers, I like to get stuff they can use in their office. Maybe a nice piece of art for the wall..or some office candles. MAN I HATE SHOPPING FOR OTHER PEOPLE!!!!

Omgosh you are so right, I love the food and spending my time with family. Finally school ends and I get to see my parents more then a few hours a day.

Is your supervisor a man or a woman? Well if its a woman, get her a basket of Bath & Body Works, lotions and potions. But if you want to spend a little more, give her some of Philosophy products. Like the yummy Shampoos that smell oh so great.

If its a man...then either a gift card or a scarf. At the moment I cannot think of anything else.
