Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Yes Anon, you have a good point about forums. I mean I love them. I never thought anyone would take the war discussion seriously. We had a good one. I cant do that where I am. I either talk with people that agree with me, and nothing can really come from that. Or I am talking to people that dont want to listen to a guy that washes his hair.
The issue with chatting and people showing off is not necessarily true for all people. I have no phone service on campus, and it is the only way I can communicate with people not in front of my face. I make plans over IM, talk to family, friends I havent seen in ages. The chat room reflects how I talk to people. I dont go on to show off to people, and if I do, I am like that in reality. I mean, I dont care about half the things I do, so why would anyone else? I do care about politics though, as you can see. So sometimes I get in these political arguements over AOL, and that is kind of tricky. Either way, things have their upsides and their downsides. If there was a perfect way to communicate...we would all be doing it right now.
I am just noting the sort attraction and routine this forum has brought to my life. You might laugh, but I plan when I am going to go on this forum. A week ago, I never even heard of this thing, but now, I am on it all the time. I need to get on this, it has become part of my routine. I am just noting the irony. I mean, come on, I would be doing something else if I never came here, something with interaction, or something in solitude, either way, this thing has me and I cant get away. We are not normal.

There are millions and millions of forums over the internet. However, the REASON these people make it a part of thier lives is a simple one. Im not gonna bother to say the reason right now because it is going to cause a lot of counter posts on my post. But let me tell you one thing; even though i am not going to tell you right now, I am 100% certain that you already know the answer to your own question. You know why you go on these forums. The fact of the matter is, you wanted to see if you are normal and what that really is in essence (being normal) lol, which is understandable. I mean you are after all only human. So come on people, why don't you all just dig deep inside and really think about it. It will only take about 5 minutes of deep thinking to understand why you go on these forums. If you guys do think about it and have an answer, then I would be curious to know if I was thinking the same thing.

I never asked why we were on here. I was just wondering if there were better things to do. It would be a good question to answer though, and I would like to hear it. Hell, I KNOW I am not normal. I am not even normal to myself. The point was to raise the question of normative social life, and if such a thing even exists. Every thread set up is to get someone to say a point, to see if someone agrees with you. The white stripes thread is a good example of this. If you notice there are people way more into this than me. Though I do take this forum semi seriuosly, some people take it even farther than me.
The reason you didnt put your answer as to why people are on this forum is because you want to see if someone agrees with you before you put up your answer. You already said that you didnt want to put your answer because if you did, there would be opposition. You are afraid of opposition. Maybe we are all on here trying to get attention, maybe we are on here because we are bored.
Not to pick on people, but anon could be viewed as a post xxxxx. He almost has 1000 posts. He says he is mild mannered in person, but on the internet, he talks all day long. Who says baron dants is more culturally aware than me? Is flames really this witty in person? Is TVaddict really a negroid? Does clubbin714 really own a club?
These are just questions, and I am not assuming anything. After you posed your questions, I realize why I am on here. Sure it is lame why I am on here, and I am not going to say it. It might not be in concordance with your reason, but my reason is my reason, and I just admitted it to myself which is a hard thing to do.
From this forum I also realized what type of person I am. Some people on here only talk the way they do because they are online, maked by anonyimity. There is not danger if someone decides to talk xxxx online. I on the other hand realized the way I talk on this forum, is the way I talk and interact in real life. I dont bullxxxx with people. Most people are actually afraid of that in person. As flames said, I am blunt. But online, if I said something, the person on the other side is protected, and they can say whatever they want.
I will tell you why I am on here. This is the honest of God truth. I would not have joined this if I had not seen the "Armenian rap" and "Will Armenians be extinct in 100 years." Anonymouse doesnt know this, but he actually inspired me to join this. I saw his arguements, and all of them took balls to articulate. Whether he could do this or not in person is a different story, but I saw how he argued history with someone else, and Christianity, and how he thought it was a downfall, and someone else was arguing back. I wanted to join because of the intelligent competition. I LOVE TO WIN. I dont know why, but I just love it. I thrive on competition. I cant just surf, I have to surf competitively. I have to work for something.
I hope that you all can be as honest as I was in assessing yourself and your reasons for being on this forum.

The only good thread you have posted requiring thought since I have been here was the 30 minutes before the end of the world. Other than that...a waste of forum space. And I have never shown disrespect towards your lame ass, lead to nothing posts...until now.
Did I point out that mr. Anon inst perfect and he is also victim of the human condition like the rest of us, requiring attention of some sort? Sorry for jamming the red pill down your throat.

would the ultimate answer be able to answer all questions? or just the ultimate question? and does that mean that we have to find the ultimate question? what if we had the ultimate answer already, but we don't know what question it's answering...
