Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Originally posted by omniscientThis is the WPT Siggie , that's why it's going to be crazy if I play. Anyway, thanks for the opinions guys. I think I'm gonna keep this money for smaller tournaments. But I'm still gonna continue to go a couple more times to play in the tournaments to win another seat and if I do win (which is highly unlikely to win twice in one week) then I'll play it because even if I lose I'll still have the other 10,000. Too much anxiety anyway , I couldn't breathe when it was down to me and this guy named Charlie Shoten (he's been on the WPT on television) for the seat. Last hand he went all-in with A9 , I called with AQ and that was the end of it.
Thanks for the help guys.[COLOR=#4b0082][B][SIZE=4][FONT=trebuchet ms]“If you think you can, or you can’t, you’re right.”

I'm not going to say you are wrong for taking the cash...$10k ain't chump change - but its no fortune either...but think about the experience - how much it might be worth to you (win or lose) - and will you ever get there again (and if you do will you just cash out again...will you ever be able to take the next step - what would it take - etc - or will you always temper your expectation and never really beleive in yourself...)...
As for all the advice you have gotten - typical Armenian (negative/pessimistic) perspective...it is what it is...and its excactly what I expected...not that its wrong per se (in this case or whenever) - but you have to understand where Armenians are comming from - and that if you can't see beyond the naysaying - you will (most likely) get no where (special) in life...

The thing I was trying to point out (poorly perhaps) is that it's a big jump from the kinds of tournaments he's been playing in. There will be a large number of professional players in the competition. It's going to be much more difficult than the tourneys he's used to playing in.
I'm not saying that he should stick to what he's been successful at and never try for more, but rather that he shouldn't jump into something he's not prepared for.
I said he could take the money and play in other tournaments. Larger than what he's been playing, but not something with a 10k buy-in.[COLOR=#4b0082][B][SIZE=4][FONT=trebuchet ms]“If you think you can, or you can’t, you’re right.”

Omniscient.... I'd say go for the 2 million.
You've come this far, why stop. Give it a shot. You're given a chance, take it.
Check it out, if you stop... you're not going to get the experience to make it big later on if you try again. At least if you try to go for the 2 million, you play with the pros and get a chance to get a taste of how it is rather than cutting yourself short.
If you fail, you can try again next year, but at least your not cutting yourself short off of something big.

What Do You Want From Life
Spooner/Evans (from The Tubes)
What do you want from life
To kidnap an heiress
or threaten her with a knife
What do you want from life
To get cable TV
and watch it every night
There you sit
a lump in your chair
Where do you sleep
and what do you wear
when you're sleeping
What do you want from life
An Indian guru
to show you the inner light
What do you want from life
a meaningless love affair
with a girl that you met tonight
How can you tell when you're doin' alright
Does your bank account swell
While you're dreaming at night
How do know when you're really in love
Do violins play when you're touching the one
That you're loving
What do you want from life
Someone to love
and somebody that you can trust
What do you want from life
To try and be happy
while you do the nasty things you must
Well, you can't have that, but if you're an American citizen you are entitled to:
a heated kidney shaped pool,
a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook,
a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,
a king-size Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,
a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,
real simulated Indian jewelry,
a Gucci shoetree,
a year's supply of antibiotics,
a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth
and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number,
a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick,
Rosemary's baby,
a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,
a new Matador, a new mastodon,
a Maverick, a Mustang, a Montego,
a Merc Montclair, a Mark IV, a meteor,
a Mercedes, an MG, or a Malibu,
a Mort Moriarty, a Maserati, a Mac truck,
a Mazda, a new Monza, or a moped,
a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away,
or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,
a Las Vegas wedding,
a Mexican divorce,
a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,
or a baby's arm holding an apple?

How did you enter into this tournament and through where?
How much does it cost and such?
Im Interested to give it a shot. Why not.
What I played is a super satellite which is one of many things you can do. Super satellites are intended for winning seats into bigger tournaments. It costs 220 dollars to buy in and you get to rebuy for the first hour. Each time you rebuy its 200 dollars so be prepared to have a good 600-800 just in case. And this is just one small tournament. Then there are the single table satellites which are 120 buy in and 1 person out of 10 wins it all (1080). And last but not least there's the actual tournament which starts at 3:30 p.m. each day with the buy in's at a minumum of 1,000 dollars. So wait a few weeks.
