Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

there is no point in arguing economics with anony... unlike anony i actuall DO HAVE a degree in economics... and unlike anony, i completely agree with armobarbi...
winoman dont be apologetic for the US, after all the US is the only country in the world that has EVER used a nuclear weapon, and probably it will remain this way forever... if the world was duplicated by the US style of democracy then we would not exists, since at the slightest hint of competition, someone would actually use a nuclear weapon...
the US just happens to be in the right place at the right time (NOW)... but mark my words, arabs and generally speaking of muslims, dont forget easily, and they will never like the US, the US is up israels a$$ and that means that they will NEVER forgive the US for smiling nicely at them in one instance and stabbing them in the back at another...
and i think that an election doesnt mean there is democray... look at the US, we had an election, guess what happened TWICE in a ROW! the person elected was not the person sitting in the presidents seat...
thank you democracy!
and i think i'd rather live in a docial-democracy then this one, or any type of communism... the problems also were not from pure communism, the problems were that people lobbied and abused the public (much like what is done in the US) and thats why we had a revolution... and we shall have one here too... when these people WAKE UP!

And our unconditional support of Israel is indeed problematic...

No comment on the election(s) - aside from a reminder that the electorial college is in place to prevent Democracy - essentially...as some powers that be do not trust it...

i love this country, i thank it everyday of my life for the freedom i have to even write this post... but the beauty of this country is that i can be critical of THE GOVERNMENT when they arent serving the people (me) and i can praise it when they do something good...
however the best thing to do is to have a HEALTHY sense of critisizm, at all times...
no matter who does what, they will let the power run to their head when they think "we are the super power of the world"... there is nothing about bush that i personally dont like... he is a regular man, but he is ruining our countries name, he represents us, do we want to be known as the nation that can pronounce the word nuclear? or that can't tell the difference between the plane and simple truth?
because thats what we are... we are a bunch of idiots in this country... this country didnt learn anything from vietnam... or any other wars... we have short memories, we like the x-large pizza, we want the beef, we want it all, and we live happily in ignorance... that is the reality of this country, thats why the government does what ever they want...
the great thing about this country is also it bad thing... we have the ability to have white supremicy groups, (they are even on CNN, they are given time slots on CNN people) that want to kill all people who do not fit in their discription of white, they are the people with the confederate flags, and these type of people in other countries are shunned upon, look at GERMANY! again, LOOK AT GERMANY! they call our current government "facist and hitler like" did anyone else get that? we, our country, (thru the grace of our government) was called a NAZI! that should make everyone alarmed and worried about where we are headed...
i love both of my countries with all my heart and soul, but i have both of the governments, because they are both corrupt and WRONG... they do not help the public... but one says they do, and other shuts its mouth knowing well that they dont... you pick which one is in the business of liaing to the people, more then the other...
my pick in the US government is liaing more to the people, then Armenia's government...

Nunechka - I don't at all disagree with the gist of your (very nice, heartfelt and too the point) post. In many ways I could be and am often more critical...and I agree - that we can't normally be jailed, harrased or worse (like if we perhaps were in Turkey) for such - well thats a very good thing. And I really do think our govenrment does quite a bit well - or as well as we will ever see from a government I should think. Room for improvement - yes a great deal...
And about those who believe and espouse things that you or I may feel are problematic...well they are enjoying the same protections as you and I - and until they cross the line with it - well they can just have there fun i guess...live and let live...

I hate that the US claimed that they "defeated" Communism in the SU. The people of the SU are the only ones who defeated Communism. Its called a revolution. I hate to speak badly of the dead, but Reagan was a bastard.
Bush is not right about anything. He deserves no respect.

I'm just shocked to know that I live in the same country as the 50-60 million Americans that voted for Bush. What are they? BLIND? I'm not a democrat nor a republican, I'm a LOGICIST (I invented it) Whatever's logical, that's what you should do! AND IT'S NOT LOGICAL TO SPEND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON A WAR [to fill up you and your friends' pockets (referring to Bush)] When we have a trade deficit, budget deficit and many other internal problems. You can say there was cheating on the elections in one or two states, but how about the other freaking 30-40 million dumbfudges?
I just hope that the Democratic party doesn't come up with another Booger aka John Kerry to run for president in 2008. Find someone that has some fire in him!
One more thing that I must add, just to cheer you guys up after you had to read my rage on Bush.
You know that Hillary Clinton might run for the presidency for 2008 right? Do you know that if she becomes the president, what will happen to Clinton?
He'll be the FIRST LADY! LMAO

Eyebaba - I hear you...you wonder sometime just what people are thinking...but then you have to realize that there are many here (in the States) who just aren't that educated/knowledgeble about things and there are many folks with a very narrow and limited view. And Bush - well hs is a Bible thumping, non-threatening (as in not smarter then anyone) good ole boy...and Kerry - well he was (percieved as) a rich establisment figure from New England - out of touch with middle America (which it seems he was) etc
As for Hillary - she has a lot going against her - just being a women of course (not that this should be a negative of course...but again perceptions...and that ole middle America...) - and the whole Clintonian baggage. Funny - because for the most part Clinton presided over a period of relative economic prosperity, he was fiscally conservative and not reallly a lefty radical at all - but boy did/does the right like to tar and feather him. All that being said - if anyone can do it - its Hillary...don't at all underestimate her. But yeah - the Dems have really blown these last 2 presidential elections - really eletions that were theirs to lose - as they had incumbancy and a strong economy and a weak challenger in the first one...and the record of failure and deciet (in pretty much all areas) in the second...most pathetic...IMO
I'm neither a Dem or Rep BTW - this last election is actually the first time I've ever voted for a major party candidate for President - and I've voted in every Presidential election since 1980. I've had 2 ideas for alternative parties. The first - the Reasonable party - whose basic platform would be to apply reason and rationality to issues - to think them through - cause and consequence - and try to make the best decisions - for the long term..etc etc...but I realized that this would just go nowhere...so I've come up with an idea for a 3rd party - called - the 3rd party - platform - we are not the other 2. We would accept anyone (and thinking local affiliation here) - with the idea that basically no matter what our candidate stand for if they can get elected we deam that they are representing their local constituency (within a certain reasonablness of course - no Hitlers - or even David Dukes I would think...but who knows). National party candidates might be trickier - as you wouldn't want a Ross Perot - with his $$$ taking over - so I haven't worked that part out. But essentially the (national & otherwise) platform would be - Were not those other guys - and how could we do worse? ...sort of thing...anyway - its an idea (whose time has perhaps come...)
