Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I agree that this is a personal tragedy that is being manipulated by outsiders with political interests - most sad and disgusting.

What gets me is that its the right wingers - who supposedly believe in States rights and limiting the power of the Federal Government to intrude on peoples lives - etc - that are pushing Federal intervention. The same folks who wnat to cut/do away with Medicare (and are against abortion but want to cut aid to poor families - etc) and such - etc etc - but in fact this has been a pattern. These folks in fact want the Government to mandate all sorts of things upon us and impose all sorts of restrictions on personal choice and freedoms - no - you can't have a legal abortion - no you can't teach proper science to our children - and so on and so forth. I wonder of these radical bible imposing leanings will one day (soon?) cause a split in the Republican party - you might think so - as these various moves seem to me to be a betryal of the underlying libertarian principles of the part. And they talk about liberal judges being activist and political? And they talk of the sanctity of marriage? Well what does this mean - how can they support any (unwarrented and downright disgusting) government intervention in such in the manner that they have done?

Funny one CK - (I normally don't complain about any holiday however- regardless - have a Martin Luther King Day every month I say!) (Speaking of - in Virginia its officially [Robert E. ] Lee, [stonewall] Jackson, [Martin Luther] King day - can you believe it?)

Several years ago I had a long drawn out discussion (OK - argument) with a co-worker regarding his contention that Thanksgiving was a Christian Holiday (he based much of his position on the decree signed by Pres Lincoln making it a holiday). We originally got into the discussion when I confronted him for passing out anti-Halloween liturature on everyone's desk - such claims like - if your kids trick or treat they will go to hell etc - lol

Ok I didn’t say the husband was raving like a lunatic, I said he might have, we’ll never know... He never allowed any investigation and refused that an autopsy be done upon her death and requested an immediate cremation instead of buried. But that’s not what’s bothering me, what’s bothering me is that when back in 1993 she was diagnosed as "improving" and was prescribed a specific path of therapy, why did the husband not allow her to attend rehab and therapy? Why didn’t he divorce her back then? I mean come on, he was already living and had kids by another woman. Of course if he had, he wouldn’t have received the millions of dollars therapy money he did.

And why would you call the nurse’s testimony BS? You know perjury and lying under the Oath in the court has severe consequences (look what just happened to Lil’ Kim lol), so no I don’t think the nurse lied.

She is now 40. He has been by her side and hasn't abandoned her at all. If he just wanted to be done with her he would have taken the initial malpractice settlement money and left her and her future to her parents, but he didn't. He stayed by her to see her will that he knew of carried out. I really wish there was some way she could be put to sleep rather than die because her body shuts down from lack of water and then food, but the end result is that she will finally move on to whatever is next (if there is a next) then all I can say is may she FINALLY rest in peace.
1- I’m not blaming him for moving on with his life, I can understand that.
2- Come on ck, if he had divorced her he would never receive the money he did.
3- Agree, don’t like the remove tube, wait till she naturally dies of starvation and dehydration idea.

Anyway, I don’t think my personal opinion matters but if I were her, I would rather die. But it’s not easy for her parents to just give up on her without even trying. Also Watching her swab test video makes me believe her brain can’t be completely dead. Either way, she’s gonna die in a week or two, so nothing matters anymore.

Why don't you get that there is no way to rehabilitate an empty cavity where brain cells used to be and magically turn them into working brain cells?

Anyway, you're right, she will pass soon, and thankfully it will be under a haze of morphine in which she won't feel anything at all. She will have peace soon and that's good.

And for those who believe that the afterlife is the next step/stage in life - what is the issue of letting her die a natural death (and moving on) versus a (questionable and I imagine certainly unfufiling) life (?) in her current state? I really just don't get it.

Hey, don't get me wrong, the more federal holidays the better, since getting paid for having a holiday is definitely a good thing to me.

                      Yeah - my point.

Some years I run out of leave (and I get about 6 weeks per year - pretty good for the states) and take several weeks without pay - just because I (and my wife) value travel and time off (over the need for the cash). We spent a month in Europe last summer - returned home for a week and turned around and took an extended weekend to Maine...I think as one gets on in their careers and lives (and starts to see that they only have so much time left...yeah) this sort of thing (time off to do fun stuff) gets ever more valuable. I used to travel and do fun stuff when I was younger - but sometimes I look back and think I worked too hard! uh huh....
