Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Rude Things Strangers Have Said To You

One time, when I was still in junior college at PCC in Pasadena, I went to school wearing a strange shirt. It was fall, so it was generally cooler and time for long sleeves. I had just purchased this cool T-shirt from this website, called bornintheussr.com. In any event, the shirt was red and it had a yellow hammer and sickle. I am not a communist, nor do I believe in communism. However, I found it interesting, the design, the colors, and after all, my family is from the former SU and it was just an inside thing that I appreciated. So I decided to wear the shirt to school.

Lo and behold I am walking to class, and as I am walking in the open area from the parking structure to the C building, someone from afar spotted the jolly old red me. So when they got close to me, it was about a 35 year old white male who probably voted for Bush. I noticed he was walking really fast, and sort of looking at me. I didn't make anything of it, and just continued. Right as he was passing by me, he just sort of let out a sentence saying "If you don't like it here, go back to Russia", and just kept walking. Haha! Now at this point I had a chuckle, because I felt good about myself, namely that I was able to piss someone off by merely wearing a T-shirt. Apparently though, the concept of freedom of choice was not apparent to our conservative Republican friend and he just had to be rude.

So share some rude things strangers have said to you.

I have been asked if I was pregnet. That came as a shock. After responding with a shoutful "NOOOO!" I dont know who was more embarassed me or them. I have chub chub but I certainly dont look pregnet! Some people.....so weird. Anyways, another I get, which I dont really know if it is a bad thing or good thing, that I look to high maitenced. I am so not. I try to look my best at all times, but I dont mind getting dirty. I dont cry over a broken nail and I dont fret if my clothes get a little dirty. And sometimes when I am in a group of people I tend to daze off amongst their conversations (I am the quite one, I dont talk much unless I know them very well and believe it or not I am EXTREAMLY shy) anyways, I will daze off focusing on something and I wont even be aware that I am "stareing" and sometimes people happen to move infront of my gaze and they will assume that I am stareing at them so they get all b*tchy and start threatning to kick my ass.

Oh yeah and I have been beaten up 2 times already for being friends with armenians. Most women here dont like them........................

I'm sure I have some good stories.

Well, one time I got in a minor car accident with someone who lives in my apartment and ever since then the kid- who's around my age- always looks at me weird. The other day I was going out and as I was walking out the front door, he was walking in with 2 friends, so I held the door open for him and he just looked at me and walked in. So I was like, "WTF" - and I slammed the door on him.

It was rude for not saying Thanks and I guess I was sort of rude too.

When I was at college, one day I was walking from class to my car parked in the parking lot. I had to cross the street, so I was waiting for the light to turn. I'm just standing there waiting, when this car begins to approach me really quickly. There were 2 guys in it. The guy in the passenger seat proceeds to stick half of his body through the open window and yell "F a g!" Then the car just zooms past by.

I guess it's not so much rude as it is ignorant, but that's my story.
